Day 2

India in control as England are brushed aside

Day 2 goes India's way in comprehensive fashion. England look to be a bowler short, it wouldnt be so bad if they had 400+, but defending a low total like this is going to prove an almost impossible task. The seamers have kept it tight, but never look like getting a wicket off a track with no seam, and little swing. The spinners have looked dangerous for England, but with little reward. Blackwell can consider himself unlucky not to have more wickets, and hes bowled better than his stats show. Meanwhile Kevin Pieterson has produced some incredibly tight spells, as has hoggard. Nothing can be taken away from India's performance thusfar though, especially Gambhir, who has mixed aggression and defence perfectly. Possibly another long day in the filed tomorrow for England.

Day 3 Session's 2 and 3

England have bowled out India, for 449. Its going to take alot of work to save this match. Blackwell & Pieterson picking up most of the wickets. Pieterson played very well, and certinly proved he can be more than just a slogging batsmen. Dinesh Mongia played well to make a quick fire 50 as he was left with the tail. Y.Singh also contributed a respectable 46 towards the end to put India in a winning position as we come towards the end of day 3.

End Of Day 3

Good start from England, who almost see out the day without losing a wicket, untill Trescothick gets caught lbw. Hoggard comes in as the night watchman and blocks out well. Still advantage India. Strauss has played very well so far to earn 50.

Day 4 Session 1

England have been very positive today, and for the first time in the match, pushed their runrate above 3 rpo. Strauss got stuck into the indian spinning attack, particuarly Kumble. And earnt a fine test century, he was supported well by the night watchman hoggard. A message came out to the middle, and Hoggard started playing shots, not long after he was out. Bell arrived as his replacement, fresh from his century in the first innings, and was looking comfortable. Untill Y.Singh came on to bowl, and caught Bell of his own bowling. The pitch still looks pretty good to me, and providing England bat sensibly, i can see this game ending in a draw.
