Feb 27 - India v England

Hm India will probably win but I don't see a thrashing. England are painfully inconsistent so it's hard to say really.

I want to bet all my vCash on India but don't know how to make a bet on India :facepalm Please somebody guide me!!

Just type in the amount you would like to bet below were it says 'stake'. It will say how much vcash you have in the small paragraph above the betting box.

I am expecting this to be a cracker. England would have finally woken up since that encounter against Holland. Colly's back in form, Bell and Trott are in form, and KP can really fire. India's batsman may score 350+, but India's seamers are also capable of conceding 350+.

India favourites though. But it's definitly not going to be a one-sided affair.

He does not have Vcash. Explains why the event appears to be closed for him.

What's the weather set for on Sunday? I saw some pictures earlier of a waterlogged ground.

Weather.com says Mostly Sunny with a High of 87F and a Low of 64F with a precipitation of 10%. Chances of rain are almost none.

this would be a good one for england to win, it will really announce their intentions this world cup. They've not really been counted anywhere among the potential winners but that could change if they pull off a win here.

would also start making india sweat a bit.

Looking forward to seeing how Swann bowls to theIndian batsmen. A sort of mini dress rehearsal that will be for the main battles in the tests in England this summer.

A World Cup game against India in India is a huge occasion in itself. I don`t think anyone would be viewing it as a mini-battle for what lies ahead in the English summer. The English summer should be the last thing in people`s minds at the moment. And this is from a test cricket fan.

England are a ramshackle outfit with too many square pegs in round holes, I can't see anything other than India winning unless England somehow exceed themselves or India implode.

Just out of interest here is the World Cup head to head :

World Cup head to head (India vs England)

1975 Group match : England 334/4, India 132/3 (England win)
1983 Semi-Final : England 213, India 217/4 (India win)
1987 Semi-Final : England 254/6, India 219 (England win)
1992 Group match : England 236/9, India 227 (England win)
1999 Group match : India 232/8, England 169 (India win)
2003 Group match : India 250/9, England 168 (India win)

All but once so far the side batting first has won. That 1975 match must be the one where India didn't think they could win so Gavaskar carried his bat for 36no or something like that. I think the semi in 1987 must be the infamous 'Gooch sweep' semi

I expect this to be a good game between two top sides. There's no question of underestimating or taking England lightly as they will have shrugged off memories of their dismal outing against Netherlands by the time they take to the field and, on top of that, let's not forget that we too have perennial problems like our poor bowling attack and allowed a minnow side to score close to 300 runs in the last game. Maybe I'm being a nitpick, but questions can also be asked about the resilence of our batting order and its ability to withstand a top order collapse as what happened in the match against Australia in the same venue just a few day ago.

As for bowling, my choice would have been to go with two spinners since spin bowling is one area where we are undoubtedly one of the bests. But, if it makes the side unbalanced, and it's a valid point, three seamers is an okayish combination provided Sreesanth is kept out of the team and replaced with someone more consistent like Nehra.

Its a no brainer really, one of the best(if not the best) odi side(s) in the world right now,in home conditions versus one the most infuriatingly inconsistent and underperforming sides? India by a landslide

the only advantage england will have is that broad, anderson and co. are much much better than the likes of sreesanth, nehra and munaf patel

Yep, If England are to win it'll be their bowling & Indian bowling that will do it for them.
