Feb 27 - India v England

should be a good game tomorrow saying that am more then happy for a simple india win

How many think a defeat tomorrow for India might actually help them?

Defeat tomorrow won't help. If India is to lose they should do so against the West Indies, that would help as they would treat the QF very seriously.
Btw, the Chinnaswamy has been a happy hunting ground for India of late.

I am confident India wont lose in Chennai. Three of our high profile players (Sachin, Dhoni and Raina) are crowd favorites and they love batting in that ground. Its an even more happy hunting ground for us. And with West Indies as opposition, I expect India not to be troubled at all. I dont want us to lose to SA because that will help SA get to the top of the table and they will most probably face NZ in the quarterfinals and that will mean we will face either of Australia, Pakistan or Sri Lanka in the quarterfinals (remember we choose our home ground only if we get to the semis, not for quarterfinals).

I want India and Pakistan to finish top of their respective groups so that there's a chance of an Indo-Pak Final. That would be perfect.

Wankhede would be a stunning atmosphere if that dream final happens. Pakistan are doing well right now, more so in the subcontinent where their spinners are wrecking havoc. Their batting is not as strong but our bowling is our weak link. Their bowling is very strong but our batting is probably the strongest in the world right now.

I know India are favourites, and they're playing at home, but why the hell are the odds so lopsided? This is a very good England team.

It's a shame it's not in Eden Gardens though. The hostility toward England would've been INCREDIBLE. Usually, having 100,000 senseless Indian fans screaming for you to fail doesn't have the best effect on your concentration.

Ye its disappoiting the game isn't @ Eden Gardens. I remember an ODI ENG played IND @ Eden Gardens in 2002 & i reckon that intimidating atmosphere caused ENG batsmen to commit some foolish shots that night & lost that game.

Its actually 63,000 only at Eden Gardens due to the renovation (that couldnt bring it back to 1,00,000). But yes, playing there would have been amazing if India had a match there (sad that we dont play at the Eden).

Btw, 'senseless Indian fans'? WHATS THAT? There would definitely be some sensible and mature guys in there too. Dont use Eden's infamous history to write off everyone that visits Eden Gardens for a match.

Chinnaswamy is in Bangalore, Sai, not Chennai.

Yeah I know. I was replying to icyman who said India should lose against WI (if at all they have to lose a game) and I said they cant lose against WI because that game is in Chennai and its India's favorite hunting ground (more so for Sachin).
