How many games have you played online? 3 losses is amazing. I lost heaps early and I still occasionally lose :/

Tried some 20 minute games, far too long for me. I'd play well then concede a ton in the last 20-30. All semi. It's pretty fun though. Not gonna give up yet, just need to make some better subs and concentrate more. Also I need to keep a lot more possession.

Must have played about 25 games. After my initial online burst I got fed up with waiting for matches, but it seems to be much quicker now. I class myself as a very good player, hence why I get annoyed at losing to crap players. I don't have that many games (14 but most are old sports games and two are guitar hero/rock band), so I have had my most game time on FIFA.

Recently played England vs USA on Legendary and fully manual controls. Lost both times, first one 2-0 and second one 2-1 after going 1-0 up (Heskey scored!).

Ah yeah. After I won the treble with Barca and played a bit of Bayern/Sydney I went to COD4 and Red Dead for a while. I dont have the WC game (Just gonna wait for fifa 11) so I'm getting right back into fifa10 with the world cup on. I might try a couple more 10 minute half matches and then maybe a manual game. Manual is really difficult though, I prefer semi. Passes still go astray but not as often.

Might attempt another World Cup on FIFA10, tried two before but the furthest I got playing every game was to the 3rd round of group stage matches. Maybe instead of presenting it as a story I'll just post updates of it here.

It's enjoyable playing as all the different nations, and extremely challenging when you face a 5 star team with a 3 star team.

Yeah, I played as South Africa vs Mexico and as South Korea vs Greece today. Played as Australia vs Germany in an 8 minute half game yesterday. Was good, went similar to this (not 100% on the times of the goals);

24th - Bresciano scores from a free kick

81st - Germany score

84th - Germany score and take the lead (fuuuuuuuuuuuu)

88th - A lovely cross in by Wilkshire (who came on for the injured Kewell) beats all the defenders to the far post, and Kennedy gets a header back across and scores

90th - Lahm makes a goal-line clearance off a Kennedy Chip! So close!

The best games are from when you come behind to level or win. My mate has the WC game and we decided to do a World Cup tournament (Me, my mate and his brother) as those middle teams who are good but not the best. I was Bosnia (Dzeko and Pjanic FTW!), my mate was Ghana and his brother was Czech Republic, I think.

Anyway, me and Will (the brother) were put into the same group and I beat him first up. I won my next game and so did Will. He then won his final game and needed me to draw against Greece to go through. If I lost both me and Greece would go through on goal difference.

Playing on World Class, which is like Legendary on FIFA10, I somehow went 3-0 down, unable to stop the Greek strikers. At this point Will had given up hope and started blaming me for his departure. As time moved on I managed to get a goal back and then pulled a second to come within one goal. The seconds ticked away and I somehow won the ball back with literally no time left. Marched down the field only to see my golden chance saved and the final whistle go. Even though I lost, just the fact that there was so much to play for made it one of the best games against the AI I have ever played.

Me and my mate went on to lose to Italy, him in the round of 16 whilst I made it to the semis.

Sounds epic. I only have one other mate that plays FIFA 10 and he doesn't really play properly, rarely plays too.

Hopefully I can get FIFA 11 when it comes out instead of waiting a while next time.

I can't stand people who play as Barca because they don't even need to be good to beat you. This guy I played last night thought he was the shiz trying tricks every time he got the ball, but in fact he was woeful. I went 1-0 up as Fiorentina and yet I struggle to beat his immense Victor Valdes with the rest of my chances. He gets two chances before half-time, takes them both and he holds on for the win.

Only my 3rd loss online. I wouldn't mind it had it been someone who deserved to win. Shravi do you play on PS3? If so I'd enjoy playing someone I know who wouldn't quit/take an immense team for a change.

I always mix up my teams. I usually pick from this list, but it does constantly change: Liverpool, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Fiorentina, Wolfsburg, Werder Bremen, Marseille and Lyon. I'm thinking Boca Juniors for my next online game.

I've only quit once and that was after 5 minutes with the score at 0-0 because I couldn't tell the kits apart. It was Barca's home kit vs Real's black kit. Couldn't really see much as it was sunny.

Yep, I play on the PS3. I'd like a game sometime. I'll lose 10-0 for certain but maybe I can learn a thing or two; namely, how to defend. My through balls have gotten so much better after playing online.

BTW, how do you cancel a move? I often press circle to pressure/push but then it shoots right after. I generally stop it by pressing X to make it a fake shot but it gives the opponent enough time to tackle me.

Yeah, add me (PSN under my profile on the left). The only way to cancel a move is like you said, pressing X. The most annoying thing is when you press X early and then you get the ball and the player passes it ahead of them. Made even worse because you can't cancel it.

Apparently you can cancel a move by pressing L2 and R2 at the same time before he gets the ball.

Ahh, yeah, I saw that in manual but wasn't sure when exactly I was meant to press it.

Playing online against other people and offline against other people really makes this game so much easier. After a week long break from manager mode and a week of online play and playing against some of my friends offline, I am absolutely destroying it in Manger Mode. My first two games back have ended 5-0 and 6-0. I'll be giving Legendary my first try soon, I think (currently still on World Class).

I had my best 20 minute game ever as Netherlands vs Denmark:

They scored after 2 minutes, I equalised after 4. Then in the 9th minute they made it 2-1. So 3 goals in the opening 10 minutes.

I equalised in the 24th, only for them to take the lead again a couple of minutes later. (3-2 down after half an hour)

Anyway, eventually they made it 5-3 after 78 minutes. Then Van Persie scored 2 more goals to bring his personal tally up to 5 and make it 5-5. Then an amazing run and through ball from subsitute Ryan Babel released Sneijder in the box who placed a shot into the bottom corner in the 90th minute. 3 goals in the last 12 minutes and a 6-5 win!
