FOOTBALL Football Manager Discussion

the new classic mode sounds interesing, and to be quite frank, what I should be playing. it eats up too much of my time when I'm in a big FM drive and to be honest I rarely look at the training and pass a lot of media stuff to the assisstant.

but I don't know, I think I will consider winning in a classic mode a hollow victory.

I think I'll be using it. As Miles pointed out all the actual game mechanics will be same in regards to the actual matches and the AI so it's not actually easier as such. Ineteresting idea to see how much the director of football role can change things as well because I suppose you can put him in charge of a lot of things and then just play the normal full game.

lol, doing a save with Man Utd cause I was bored. And going really well, until December where I manage to pick up 4 red cards in the space of 3 games, to go with a heap of injuries so I can barely field a first team atm. Somehow managed 2-1 victories in two of the games but then had a 2-2 draw with Southampton where 2 of my players were sent off.

I wish my players would bloody watch their tackles.

I wonder who will start the thread for the "football manager 2013 network game" that will never ever get played.

Well definitely wasn't expecting this after my last 4 league results had been a 2-1 win against Swansea, 2-2 draw to Southampton, 1-0 win against West Brom and a 2-1 win against Norwich.

Well not a bad way to start the season. Hernandez dominating, with help from van Persie, who picked up a goal and two assists, with Fletcher, Hamsik, Kagawa and Hawkins (16 year old midfielder) adding an assist each.

Nobody's got the new game?

despite saying I wouldn't I did. but I've come up with a plan and it's only installed on the computer at my parents house, I usually go round and see them once a week so I can't play it very much.

I ended up loading up a ton of leagues and clicking random and landed at a swiss challenge league side called Locarno (which would be a lovely place to live really, ?50K a year on low taxes at a picturesque lakeside resort, yes please) finding it quite surprisingly easy though. I'm playing the full sim and I took two seasons to get them promoted, despite having no money for transfers and them being relegation candidates when I joined. and I'm doing ok in the super (top) league too and have them at 4th right now.

I hope I can take them into the Euro cup but beyond maybe making the group stages I don't see me taking them much further. I'm holding out for a job with one of the big swiss clubs but I'm also keeping an eye to see if anything opens up in germany or italy.

my tip for a player if anyone is playing lower leagues is Mustafa Durak, a turkish striker, scored 29 goals in 33 games in the challenge league, been injured for most of this season but has done ok when called upon. not bad for a freebie.

It's Christmas time and that means raping FM after avoiding it all semester at uni. Should be doing some essay on moral ambiguity between heroes and villains in Vietnam War films, but that can wait.

Anyone fancy a challenge with me? The challenge I tried to conquer on FM11, but got nowehere near even after 15 seasons - The Pentagon Challenge. Didn't help I started with the lowest reputation, so we can change that a little.

We can set up a thread and post our game situation. Doesn't need to be in story style, just give updates whenever you feel like. Would have to start unemployed with a 'Professional Footballer' reputation, just so we can get reasonable jobs. The aim is to win the 5 Champions Leagues (Europe, North America, South America, Asia and Africa).

So who's in? I'll be playing on FM12 as I haven't forked out for FM13 yet, but I have the weegie update for this season, so it'll make little difference.

all 5 CLs? that's a beast of a challenge.

probably not in, I like to do my games my way and doubt I'll be packing this one in any time soon unless.

Locarno ditched for fulham in the championship. I'm jizzing over the facilities and wage budget. I took them up within half a season (joined in november) they were strongly placed and I won a 4-3 in e.t. in an epic match on the play off finals after squandering 2-0 and 3-2 leads.

doing pretty ok in the premiership, sitting at 8th but playing well. we thumped norwich 4-0 in the opener which I think signalled we weren't out of our depth.

few problems since then, the brazilian striker I coughed most of the budget on, Dani, has had serious settling in problems, we were dumped out of the capitol one cup by derby, and threw away a 1-0 lead to man u in the 94th minute after the keeper dropped the ball on wayne rooney's toes. but overall everything is peachy.

It's a beast but I enjoy starting unemployed and working my way up. Managed the likes of Bradford, Hull, Swansea, River Plate, Osasuna, Sweden, New Zealand and Mali (and a few others) in my FM11 save. Won loads of trophies but nothing major at all.
