The last management game that made me play for more than 10 seasons was Champ man 03/04. In my opinion, that was, and still is the best football management game out there by none. It's dated now but I don't care, I only manage the lower leagues anyway so by the time I get them into the premiership there's be loads of player movements anyway. I reccomend anyone to re-install this game and just enjoy it. It's brilliant. I've never had mroe fun on a sports game than when I took Accrington to the Champions League. My greatest achivement in life so far.

I think they need either a 3D match engine or one like CM where you can see the ball's height so you are not thinking "Did that go in the bottom or top corner" or "Is that going over the bar" etc. it just feels so unrealistic and boring watching the matches because they are unrealistic, you cant tell how high the ball is and they are just dots.

Go and play FIFA Manager or CM then, I actually prefer the 2D system, it's different and it makes FM unique, and makes matches quicker to get through which as KP said means the game flows more.

I'm presuming you won the league Kev?

As much as we all want it to happen, no football management game should have United and Chelsea being relegated in the first season.

I had the same glitch when Hasan Salihamidzic won Man of the Match for Juventus Under 20s.

Kewell in the Aus U/23's ISN'T a glitch, you can call up a certain amount of 23+ players if i'm correct certainly for olympics and the quals

As Spurs manager, Arsenal were mid table, I applied for the job, spurs fans got angry, I was forced to resign. Now i'm bloody jobless and just praying they'll accept me, oh well managing united the same week I beat Chelsea 4-0

Call him crap in the press Are you playing 1 or 2 strikers ahead him? Rafas been sacked now so I applied for that whilst I'm Ivory coast boss! McClarens managing Reading too! As united manager I desperately tried to scrape the cash together in January for Alves but faild because I'd spent it all on Brazillian under 20 players! Top of the league though so if I win that then it could happen.

You keep telling yourself that, when CM or Fifa Manager goes next-gen and has realistic 3D matches with all the leagues you could ever want and loads more features with the game being very realistic while FM is still a big spreadsheet with dot football . FIFA Manager and Championship Manager are improving with every version and are not stuck in the past.lol

Like I said, go and play those games if your not happy with FM. How does having the match in 3D make it a realistic game. And how in any way is it like a spreadsheet? At least SI have their own ideas with FM, unlike Eidos, who I think make CM, who have to steal ideas from the previous year's FM, an example of that being team talks. CM was brilliant before the split, but it needed SI.

Forget it Madman, its utterly impossible to criticise Football Manager. You are either 100% in love with it or you are an infidel

Just because I don't think Football Manager is perfect (and probably the same goes for Madman) it doesn't mean I (we) hate it and think CM is brilliant. I tried the CM demo and I didn't like it but it has come on since last year when I completely hated it.

Personally I'd much prefer to see a 3d view implemented for starters it would be much more entertaining to see fifa-like modelled players actually playing the game rather than watching little dots (although I still shout at those dots when they dont do what I want them to). As far as I'm aware SI's reasoning has always gone along the lines of it's not possible to implement all the moves in 3d so it wouldn't be as accurate a game. I'm sorry but thats a total cop out, of course it is possible FIFA does it, Pro Evo does it, it's just more work that they don't want to do. Hire some more programmers for god's sake, they must be making a bomb out all the copies of the same game they sell year in year out.

I just had the most dramatic end to a season, with 2 games to go Chelsea were 2 points behind, the penultimate game was against Chelsea too! I played them and drew 2-2 with goal from Rooney and Ronaldo, they got one in the last minute and it was about 10 yards offside too. Then I went into the last day needing a draw to win on goal difference (mine was 20 better!). I started off conceding early, and went in at half time 1 down. I brought on Anderson and Hargreaves and gave everyone the hairdryer Then we came out, Rooney got 2 to make him the leagues top scorer with 26 and super sub Hargreaves got the last one. I went out the league and FA cup early but now I'm about to face Milan in the CL final.
