What an unmitigated disaster Football Manager 2009 has become. I cannot believe that problems that are currently on going. Barely anyone can get on the game to play due to the new authentification system. I'm just glad that my version from Play.com hasn't arrived yet or I'd be really peeved at the moment.

I would like to share some good players but Play.com still haven't delivered it which is most unlike them, I usually have games a day early.

Davide Petrucci from Man Utd, compensation of 325k, Can be the next Totti.
Mario Balotelli and Davide Santone both have potential to be quality players but expensive, still you can get them on a season loan with good initial fee and about 5mil future agreed price.

Which would be better to buy, FM 09 or 08?

I might just end up getting 08 for cheaper, I know the squads better and there's less of a chance of it not working

I'd buy 09 hands down is the better game after the first patch, having played it on a friends computer, the activation process has been fixed now so it should work when you try.

well yeah you can get FM08 and download the latest patch for it, which i believe has the latest squad as of the start of season, and apart from 3d i dont think its changed a significant amount and offcourse the players Abiltites and Potential is gonna be different from last year.

Thanks for all the adivce, the idea of press conferences appeals to me but I doubt the 3D thing would work on my PC (Seems not to work on loads of others)

I was just wondering when it comes to making your own kits for the game, do templates come with the game? If not where can I get them?

Its already been put aside for me in the Droylsden fc club shop so when we play against Darlington tomorrow, all I have to do is pay the money and voila!
