a) You cant drop the captain
b) Joyce did well towards the end of the CBS series and got the match-winning 100 that allowed us to beat Australia.
a) what kind of example does that set to Vaughan, don't be a Sven :p If Vaughans under no pressure then he will be less focused.
b) i edited my post but apart from that 100 Joyce wasn't making enough runs for us to be world champions

a) I didn't see Beckham having the tactical nouce that Vaughan possess. Vaughan should be in the side for his tactical brilliance alone.
b)He made a decent 47 in a losing cause against New Zealand, when everyone else was losing their wicket recklessly. Without that 100, we would probably not have won the CBS, give him a bit of time to get adjusted to West Indian conditions and he'll be fine.

ok i can appreciate Joyce deserves a chance but if Vaughans so good at tactics make him coach! He should not just be guaranteed a place in the team

He hasn't got coach experience and I'm talking about tactics and leadership in the field.

If Fleming couldn't bat for Tofee do you think he would be playing? Vaughan needs to make runs for England,Pontings not the best tactician but Australia win because he leads from the front

He's getting 20's and 30's which is more than other England batsmen at the moment. Also, a 60 against Australia 2 games ago isn't exactly bad either.

hold on earlier on you were saying that they'd only had 1 official ODI game so they hadn't had much practice and now you're saying that the 60 shows why he should be in them team :p Vaughan has never done it in ODI's before and theres nothing to indicate that he's going to start now, his captaincy is invaluable...sub fielder ;) At the end of the day we're not winning matches so his captaincy can't be that good

Aye, I thought I might get away with that one but you caught me! :p

A 60 against the Aussies is a 60 against the Aussies though.

A lot of that win was t do with the toss too, New Zealand are brilliant chasing and when fred doesn't pick up wickets you're always going to struggle

Vaughan is looking decent so far. Played a beauty of a straight drive earlier. Really hope he gets a hundred today; Okay it's only Canada but a high score of triple figures is better than 90.

I will like to see an inform Kevin Pietersen bat against Canada and destroy them.

Falls again at the wrong time for 45  Joyce and Bell moving along nicely, but to slowly against an attack of this standard.
