Are Algeria and Slovenia any good? Does the US have a real chance of going to the next level?

I would say so, this is possibly the easiest group in the World Cup. Algeria and Slovenia are pretty poor so USA definitely have a huge chance of going through to the next round.

England must be delighted.

Also US have a few good players; Donovan, Howard, Dempsey, Spector who all play in England... plus Onyewu who plays at AC Milan

Donovan did have a short loan spell at Everton this season and he played reasonably well for Everton.

I would have to agree and say this is possibly the easiest group and if the USA can overcome Algeria, they'll get through. See England getting through to top the group and for my sake, hopefully hammering the USA in the process. Going to International School with so many American's, would very much be unbearable!

Lets not completely underestimate Algeria here. I agree US might have a good shot at progressing. But we could also see a situation, where we have England and Algeria progressing!

Lampard actually missed a penalty in the final. Not that it affects the result but it was still a shocker though. And it seems that he tends to shoot the left side of the goal(from his view). Teams in the World Cup should take note of that and England seriously needs to practice their penalties in case they encounter one in the World Cup.

England all the way! They have an excellent chance of reaching the Finals, easily one of the strongest teams in the competition, along with Spain and Brazil.
USA surprisingly have a very realistic chance of going through. Would be great for their game :)

Yep they got a great group. If they do indeed finish 2nd they will probably play Germany in the next round. If they finish first they will play whoever finishes second place in Australias group (group D). So a Australia vs USA round 16 match is possible (although very unlikely) but Australia vs England is more probable.
