GTA IV on PC

i play in multilayer ,it is great man specially the team mode:hpraise
i mean team death match, team mafia work etc

I am in need of a new game, preferably sandbox, so GTA IV would seem to fit the bill, but I need to know how well it would run on my current setup (and how well it would go with 3Gb instead of 2gb). Apparently, the patch helps things along quite a bit. So, how well will it run on my setup?

Hmm....Can You Run It has my system failing on three aspects: CPU type, speed and amount of RAM, so I might hold fire on this one.

I'd think it'd run decent enough on your setup, should be okay on medium settings. Just add in 2 more Gigs of RAM if you can, but then you'd need 64-bit.

Ask The Gas, he had a similar setup but only a faster CPU and a bit faster GPU.

WHAT! This is on PC! I didn't even know...

...That means.

....No way...

Dont tell me.....

Theres patches for it!

You beauty, might go and grab myself a copy right now!

Thanks. I'm in a quandary as to whether to get it or not, some people have posted less than favourable technical reviews and they have very powerful PCs. How do you mean, 64 bit? 64 bit O/S? I wouldn't need to do that for 3gb, would I?

Cool. I agree, I love the Custom music. Some of MJ's best will go on there for sure, if I get it.

MasterBlaster76 added 15 Minutes and 22 Seconds later...

Still looks pretty good on medium?

Nah man, my cpu is 3.5ghz and his is 2.0ghz. Massive difference in gta terms which ideally need a minimum of a 3 core cpu solution. Actually one of the only games around that benefits from more than two cores.

LOL my bad I didn't notice, I thought you had 2.8 Ghz for some reason...

Steve, it looks pretty decent on Medium but I won't recommend going in with less than 4 Gigs of RAM for GTA IV, especially with the graphics framebuffer being 512MB.

That said, I haven't tried it yet because Rockstar couldn't be arsed to make a demo.

OK, but you mentioned having to go to 64 bit if I get 4Gb. What exactly did you mean?
