India in England/Ireland/Scotland

After much consideration, my test team would be;

Cook
Vaughan (C)
Bell
Pietersen
Collingwood
Flintoff
Prior/G.Jones (Yes sounds wierd about G.Jones, BUT hes done well in county cricket)
Tremlett/Sidebottom
Hoggard/Sidebottom
Anderson/Sidebottom
Panesar

I dont think any of the three main seamers positions will ever be stuck in stone, Hoggards is more safe than the other two, but Sidebottom has to be in there somewhere, maybe drop Anderson on conditions which would really aid Sidebottom.

My ODI team would be;

Cook
Prior
Pietersen
Collingwood (C)
Flintoff
Bopara/Shah/Bell (there are a couple more, but these are the major ones)
Tremlett
Anderson
Sidebottom
Panesar

There are so many decent OD players in the county game, but i suppose you want a bit of experience in the lineup, im unsure about the OD bowling lineup but i think they'd do ok.

The last 3 days of that game really ruined a good series from India. Mainly due to Dravid's idea to not enforce and then to play a time wasting innings. If India did that right, they could have won easily. I guess England deserved the first match so they cancel each other in a way, as should have win draws.

Bring on the ODIs. I think playing a spinner in ODI cricket is really important. Despite the conditions. Having as many options as possible for the captain is an advantage. If the pacemen are getting whacked, how often do we see the spinners pull it back.

ODI Team;
Cook
Prior
Shah
Pietersen
Collingwood
Bopara
Flintoff
Mascharenhas
Sidebottom
Andersen
Panesar.

My England ODI Team:

1) Alistair Cook
2) Matt Prior
3) Kevin Pietersen
4) Paul Collingwood
5) Andrew Flintoff
6) Ian Bell
7) Ravi Bopara
8) Ryan Sidebottom
9) Chris Tremlett
10) Monty Panesar
11) James Anderson

My India ODI Team:

1) Dinesh Karthik
2) Gautam Gambhir
3) Rahul Dravid
4) Sachin Tendulkar
5) Sourav Ganguly
6) Yuvraj Singh
7) Mahendra Singh Dhoni
8) Ramesh Powar
9) Zaheer Khan
10) Rudra Pratap Singh
11) Munaf Patel

I Would Pick Sreesanth but he is not included in the Squad.

Quite good Teams....:)

i have no idea for the odi team..

i think we NEED a loye/maddy type player at the top to go with cook....who is that guy making lots of runs ben/luke wright?

Pietersen HAS to bat 3 IMHO for ODI's any lower is a waste.

Colly at 5 cos he's a great finisher/ pacer of an innings

i think shah will probly bat 4 with bopara at 6

I'd have prior and freddie at 7/8 for some real late innings fireworks..

9/10/11 would be anyones guess sidebottom, anderson, panesar most likely.

give plenty of batting and 6-7 bowling options..

no doubt the selectors we come up with their own way to mess up the odi again though :p

My India ODI Team:

1) Dinesh Karthik
2) Gautam Gambhir
3) Rahul Dravid
4) Sachin Tendulkar
5) Sourav Ganguly
6) Yuvraj Singh
7) Mahendra Singh Dhoni
8) Ramesh Powar
9) Zaheer Khan
10) Rudra Pratap Singh
11) Munaf Patel

Although you cannot argue that your team is bad, it is quite different from mine.

1) Sachin Tendulkar
2) Robin Uthappa
3) Sourav Ganguly
4) Rahul Dravid
5) Dinesh Karthik
6) Yuvraj Singh
7) MS Dhoni
8) Piyush Chawla
9) Ajit Agarkar
10) Zaheer Khan
11) Munaf Patel

I think England's new ball attack in ODIs has been poor for some time now and I think that Tendulkar, without the negative fields enforced on him in test matches and now with the ability to pull the ball without a deep square leg and deep fine leg in place, and Uthappa will be the people to capitalise on a wayward start.

At three, Ganguly will have plenty of time to build the long innings he is known for since his comeback. Dravid can stonewall in case of a collapse and can manipulate the singles in the middle overs. Dinesh Karthik can assist with this.

In the latter overs, you do not find better hitters than Yuvraj and Dhoni. Clean hitting and power respectively.

Chawla is there to provide batting in depth, I have picked him over the impressive Powar so that India can capitalise on the sublime form he is in starting in the A team's first match against Zimbabwe 'Select' where he scored a fifty and took seven in the match.

Agarkar in for RP Singh because he has (believe it or not) been in good form with the ball in ODIs for a little while now and there is no reason to drop him, he can bat also. I have Munaf in the team because I feel he can be back to hit best after his first long rehab since injuries started. Back to 140kph and with late swing and stump to stump line, he could be hard to get away.

I hate GJ, if he plys for England again i will kill myself.
Anyway
England test side
Cook
Vaughan
Bell
KP
Colly although in a collapse i would send Colly up to 4 because KP won't bat how you have to in those situations imo
Fred
Prior WK
Sidebum
Hoggy
Harmy just about holds onto his place but theres only so long he can rely on his reputation.
Monty

ODI's
Cook
Bell
Prior
KP
Colly
Bopara
Fred
Broad
Sidebottom
Anderson
Monty

Broad had 1 bad game in the last series and suddenly nobody picks him, still got 6 wickets in the series and he's been in devastating form at domestic level.

Im sure he said living rooms in the Sky Sports interview.

Anyway Pal, what do you think of my ODI team?

Im sure he said living rooms in the Sky Sports interview.

You're probably right. :p

I'm not too keen on Robin Uthappa. He might get a chance later in the series, if India manages to win the series before the last game. But, he hasn't played in a while and even though he's quite explosive when he can get started, I think Gautam Gambhir, despite his hapless performances against SA, will provide more stability.

 Munaf is back to 140kph!, the last time he bowled that fast was in last years test series with england, i mean i onyl picked him because of his accurate line and length...well thats a bonus for india. :)

I meant hopefully back to 140kph, nothing is for sure, but I have heard reports he has found his old venom...

still, thats promising to hear :), i have a feeling england will have to rely on KP and Collingwood, because from my perspective they havent got many specialist one-dat players...

I just read that Mahendra Singh Dhoni is 6'2" and I can't believe it. I mean, he looks relatively short behind the stumps.

I'm going as far to say:

England 2-4 India

Yep, you heard right, we're going to win 2!!! With one abandoned!!!
