India in England/Ireland/Scotland

This is another opportunity for Dhoni to show that he belongs in the team. I think he will fail again. Especially since the top order has been struggling.

india never learn, :noway, they know theyre top order will never fire because most of them except from yuvraj are over the hill, but yet still they opt to play 5 flippin bowlers, india only have themselves to blame here, i actually want to see india lose today so it can get through their flippin heads that our batting line is not as good as the stats show.

and agarkar is going to for 8 an over at least. anything less and england will feel dissapointed they havent cashed in...

Playing 5 bowlers was not bad. It was good and positive. But our top order didnt bat well today. India are also unlucky in this series When Dravid opts to field, the sun comes out and the wicket becomes good for batting. When he chooses to bat, the clouds hover around and its tough to bat. Here, the batsmen were a bit too ambitious against short deliveries. Tendulkar gifted his wicket to a lollipop bowler.

since when do out top order bat consistently well?....

Tbf sai, the clouds never went away. Nor has it swung, it's been good bowling, not much in the pitch in terms of swing or seam movement. There is pace and bounce though.

Another excellent England bowling performance. Love seeing part timers like KP getting a wicket, and too that of Sachin.

Yuvi edges between the keeper and 2nd slip, no 1st slip, an error that lets India get some kind of competitive total on the board?

Broad is very impressive, a young raw bowler, has a couple of expensive early overs, then rakes it back in again. He has a huge career ahead of him. After many years of bowlers coming through who can't bat (Panesar, Anderson, Hoggard, etc) we now have Broad, Plunkett, Rashid and the like coming through.

wow is that 7 tosses in a row for dravid ?

India aren't going to set much of a target, and England batting line-up is IMMENSE..shah at 8 !!

India might get 220-230 if they bat wel from here, but a few quick wkts could see them out for 170-180..

Bopara is in at 8, though I'd personally I'd have Fred at 8, with Shah 6 and Bopara 7.

effectively england have 9 batsmen in theit team whereas india only have 6....

To echo Michael Holding and Nasser Hussain, Munaf Patel should just bowl and get off the field as quick as possible to take a leaf from England's book[/bitter indian fan].

Good bowling from England, this attack has been extremely impressive and has outclassed some damn fine batsman. They are all 'doing a Mcgrath' and getting the ball to move just enough and India are 'doing a Mcgrath' and managing to edge it all;). As much as it pains me to say it, England's bowlers have deserved to win the series for England and I cannot see India turning the game or series around from here.

Monty is simply not good enough in ODIs currently and England are showing a weakness in picking him. Keep him on the scene, but don't play him while he still is. He does not take wickets and can be milked for runs. Adding to that, his fielding is average and his batting is...certainly below average.

India playing five bowlers is an agressive move and showing faith in the batting line up. Fact is, it hasn't paid off but I respect the management for taking the risk in the name of progress. Unfortunately, India just don't have a fifth bowler of international quality to justify it.

whatever india pose today england should be able chase it absolute ease, and easier now because panesar has bowled dhoni....

and thats surely the series...

[sarcastic] woohoo, india's 'star-studded' batting line-up fires again [/sarcastic]

agrakar has edged to prior off broad

Even if England win it's 3-1 with 3 to play...or do you have that little confidence in the Indian team?

well, I'd imagine we'd be able to win at least one more ODI after this one if we win.
