India tour of Australia - 2018/19

Vijays shot was poor though. Even though that too was a brilliant delivery.. But not unplayable

It happens when you are often in and out of the team due to injuries and poor form which affects the confidence of a player to a great extent. Vijay won't be a player who would be out if Shaw becomes available for the MCG Test it would be Rahul because of the number of chances he got to play (19 innings on a trot). He might get to play at the SCG if Vijay fails to impress at MCG

Imo I don't think there was anything rash about that shot ... Rahul barely got any time to even play a shot. That was one of those unplayable deliveries - yorker and swinging in late. You have to be very very lucky to get any bat on that one

Yeah it swung late but he could have played it , if he stayed in the crease instead of driving or pushing towards the ball.. Good ball no doubt but he could have well defended it ..

Time to bring in some change I feel.. I mean people keep telling Dhawan isn't fit for this but he would at least get some runs even 20-30 runs for a start..I mean our 3 and 4 are basically openers now.. Can even try Parthiv.. DK is another option I would like to see how he goes..

70/2 at Tea. Some considerable effore put in by Pujara and Kohli. If they continue like this we are right in it. It would more difficult to bat on in the next session as there would be enough swing to trouble the batsman but if both of them show enough courage, grit and discipline, who knows they might survive the entire session taking the score past 250 ?

No please. Enough of him in the longer format because if he fails he might get dropped from the shorter format which would be a loss considering that even WT20 is around the corner (7-8 months post the big WC)

I am sure we can find better specialist Test openers from our domestic circuit than dhawan and dk. Going back to someone like DK would be a step back

Absolutely loving the content between Cummins and Kohli..... the former is really bowling superbly and looks like can get Kohli anytime soon.

And while I was writing this Pujara's gone.

BiG wicket this one.

An unsure rahane, an most debutant vihari and an unreliable Pant to follow. There is no other batsman after this. KOHLI needs to settle and guide the batting now to get as close to Aussies first innings score.

Why does Rahane play like Sehwag these days??

KL has a century in England in that time and any average Joe would tell you that his 44 in the Adelaide test was gold. Don't get the KL hate here. And it's very rich of a Rohit Sharma fan to pass moral science lessons about too many chances being offered.[DOUBLEPOST=1544860996][/DOUBLEPOST]
What the heck is Rahane doing?

Staking a claim to the one day side.

What the heck is Rahane doing?

It almost looks like he went up to Kohli and said that deal with it .. Thats how I'm going to play. Smash my way to form with some very uncharacteristic strokes

Interesting to see Rahane so jovial and smiling and laughing. He seems surprisingly relaxed for a guy who has struggled with form for quite some time

Maybe that second innings knock in Adelaide helped his confidence

I like this counter attacking approach on a serious note. Positive leaves.. when Jinx does that he can be lethal.
