India tour of Australia - 2018/19

This is just thrilling to see India score 600 in Aus without a big one from Kohli. Jadeja unfortunate to miss a century, as so Pujara with his double century. Pant was superb with this 159*. And yes, Pujara rightfully deserves the MoS award. He played the Kohli role of the team from the 2014 tour of Aus, where he too scored 3 hundreds. This time India was backed by very good fast bowlers and it's heartening to see Pujara making knocks like this after he was randomly dropped in England.

We are playing a pacer less in the test match. If the wicket doesn't deteriorate toiling coming up for Indian bowlers as well.

Yeah this one for the Indian fans, for neutrals it’s boring as hell :p

Are the Aussies going to bench Cummins, Hazlewood and Starc for the world cup too because the Ashes are immediately after? I think Cummins and Starc have to play if the Aussies are to have a chance in the WC.

So no wickets for India in 10 overs, although the drop by Pant could have changed that. Would be interesting to see if Australia's batsmen can capitalize on this track and put up some fight.

If that happens, and it is possible because the wicket is still excellent to bat on, then I think we are headed for a draw.

This is why people say modern Cricket is a batsman's game where bowlers get less appreciation as compared to the batsman. Pujara has scored 329 runs this series at an average of 54.67 of which 229 has come in just 2 innings so rest 4 innings he just averages 25 which shows he hasn't been that consistent either and is still vulnerable to the bouncing ball which his dismissals in Perth shows it. If we pick out the batting as a whole he has been terrific and looks very much reliable as well but the ones who actually stood out this series are the bowlers. The pitches this series aren't difficult batting pitches but it all came down to some really good bowling and also poor shots on display. And when we talk about bowling none in this series are as impressive as Jasprit Bumrah who just average 14.65 with the ball and has a strike rate of just 40.2 so it means every 7 overs he gets atleast 1 wicket and also his economy has just been 2.18 runs per over which shows he has kept the batsman quite as well. And whenever he has came on to bowl he just looks a bit hostile with his pace and bounce hitting the batsman time and again. Something more impressive was the way he bolwed at the MCG on a slow and low pitch where bowling becomes a bit difficult but he still troubled the Aussie batting line-up bagging a 6-fer. That is why, Jasprit Bumrah has been a stand-out performer and if he continues this way at the SCG he deserves the Man of the Series

Pujara leading the way for Man of the Series

4 hundreds to be precise

2 in Adelaide
1 at Melbourne
1 at SCG[DOUBLEPOST=1546606173][/DOUBLEPOST]

Mark my words unless there is a weather interruption we will win this series 3-1[DOUBLEPOST=1546606238][/DOUBLEPOST]

Maybe boring to see India win :lol

I'd just like to give a word of appreciation for Tim Paine. My admiration for him continues to grow immensely. He's everything a cricketer should be. For him to be so honest in the PC and to also have the human side to recognise that there's more to life than cricketer shows his maturity and greatness. He's taken over the reigns when most would have turned it down, specially since he had just returned in the scheme of things. His phone call in the PC will be etched in funny cricket memories for time immemorial. He reminds me a lot of MSD. Great captain and a great human! Looks like a very high quality keeper and nuggetty batter too.

I think, I'm a fan and honestly, I can't remember ever loving an Aussie cricketer. More power to him! :thumbs

I am quite satisfied with the score that India have declared on. With India holding the lead in the series and a draw here will ensure a historic series win in Australia for the first time ever by any Indian team that has hit Aussie shores, they still declared on Day 2 and gave Australia a few overs to bat. In 2003/04, the series was tied 1-1 and at that time, a 1-1 result was considered a huge achievement and so India went on to bat till 705 and then declared, thereby not having enough time to bowl Australia out.

I believe this time, we still have lots of runs on the board and also the time (weather permitting). If weather permits, I am confident the scoreboard pressure and our bowlers should be able to squeeze out 20 wickets on this pitch. If weather does not permit, India still come out with a 2-1 series win which is a great achievement, thanks to the contributions of Pujara, Bumrah and ably backed by others in the team. Absolutely no doubts who my MoS is. That Adelaide knock of 123 had sealed it for me and it hasn't changed ever since.

Kuldeep has the ability to run through the entire Australian Lineup even if the pitch has little help to offer. Hope he does well with the Red ball and atleast put pressure on the Australian batting.

Maybe you have seen what others including me have failed to do so. I think it is your duty to Captain the side if you are offered the Captaincy so I don't see anything great in it. Yes, the Australian team came across an unfortunate incident, and yes Smith and Warner getting banned for a year was big loss for the Australian team. But I think whoever would've been given the opportunity to lead the side back then, he would've taken it anyhow. Even Shaun Pollock took the Captaincy from Hansie Cronje but people still doesn't go on to sing about his laurels that he took the Captaincy in such a difficult situation for the team. We Indians consider Ganguly as great person to take the Captaincy at the time when there were allegations about match fixing and all (I don't know much about it as I was maybe just less than a year old back then :p), coming back to it we praise him for that but none in rest of the world actually appreciates it much. Even Finch took over the Captaincy in the Limited Overs format but why do you appreciate Paine so much on this context. If we talk about honesty and humbleness in the Press Conference we better look at Jos Buttler. I am curious to know what exactly made you his fan
