India tour of Australia - 2018/19

These caught down the legside by keeper dissmissals are ridiculous.. Have increased A lot off late

A time when players are reinventing themselves with their "2.0" avatars to stay afloat with the game, here is Pujara 1.0 showing how its done in Test cricket. This is the classical Pujara we have all admired since he broke onto the scene. Grind the opposition down and then make merry. What a start to 2019 for him.

*Knock on wood*[DOUBLEPOST=1546495986][/DOUBLEPOST]This stat from cricbuzz defines it the best

Fourth time Pujara has batted over 200+ balls this series - most for an Indian player in a series in Australia surpassing Sunil Gavaskar's three in 1977/78 tour

I think a lot of all this is media drivel. Sure, there will be lot of under 50 scores where he is slow but when he makes tons, they're SR that match anyone else including Kohli in a test. I think he's a brilliant barometer to know how the track is playing. One thing I know and have seen with Pujara is that when he makes a hundred we will win. I'm not comparing but apart from Nottingham this year I don't remember a Kohli SENA ton where we won.

Oh boy, he's looking greedy this test match. Aussies could be in a world of trouble.

Pajama wants a double.
If we draw this test, we will still win, so he can bat the way he likes.
I still remember his marathon 202 off 505 in the 3rd test of BG trophy. It was under immense pressure as Australia set up a daunting total.[DOUBLEPOST=1546501749][/DOUBLEPOST]Bowling to Kohli: outside off
Bowling to Raina : leg bouncer or wide delivery at leg side
Bowling to Rahane: spin
Bowling to Rahul: Just bowl

A great day for India. The more I see of Vihari, the more impressive he gets. In the opener's role, he was occupying the crease and in the middle order he is having a decent outing with those 30-40+ scores. Yes, it would be better if he can convert those, but at #6 there is consistency with this batting.

Mayank would be disappointed again with the way he got out. He had an opportunity to score 100 in consecutive matches. But the first impressions are promising.

Not sure about the status of the pitch, but if isn't a spinning one Kuldeep might have a hard day.

Rahul, hmm, I don't know what the plans are for him. What was the point of dropping him if you were going to pick him up again. Not a wise decision I would say.

I guess Shubman Gill needs to be fast tracked into the test team when our next series comes up. We need viable backup opening options for Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal. And the good thing is, these blokes (Shaw/Agarwal/Gill) can also bat in the middle order as an opener can easily slot in the middle whereas the other way around is impossible in tests. Gill has a decent record in 8 FC games that he has played till now (AVG of 82; S/R or 77). India need to build the opening pool beyond Rahul and make him slog his way back into the test team.

Great knock from Pujara! This IS HIS breakout series. The series that gives him that huge backlift into the next level. Having had a series like this in Australia should give him great confidence. And hopefully being the grounded personality that he is and the fact that he plays only one format, should keep him grounded and drive him to achieve other peaks (like conquering England and consistently performing like this overseas). No comparisons with Dravid, but Pujara has a chance to define his own legacy at No.3 and in India's test cricket.

I just saw the HLS with much more focus and CHE is using the same broken bat that's fetched him these hundreds. Watch out, that thing could split anytime. :D:lol

Australia ODI squad announced:
Aaron Finch (c), Usman Khawaja, Shaun Marsh, Peter Handscomb, Glenn Maxwell, Marcu Stoinis, Mitchell Marsh, Alex Carey, Jhye Richardson, Billy Stanlake, Jason Behrendorff, Peter Siddle, Nathan Lyon, Adam Zampa

Feel so gutted for Cheteshwar, he was almost there ... 200 was there.. what a brilliant inning that is. India can only win or draw this match. There is no way Australia is winning this match after this knock.

Interesting fact: Pant is third highest run getter this series." -- 40 runs more and he'll be second on the list. --- This is awesome.

Wonderful two sessions for India so far. Disheartening to see Pujara miss out on a double but he is definitely THE candidate for MoS award. Cummins is probably the second choice, but his efforts have gone in vain.

Seeing that we already lead the series, I don't think Kohli will have the declaration anytime soon, which I think isn't a bad ploy. There is no need to be heroic/bold at the moment. I think Australia will have to bowl us out here.

I dont think we should declare either. Just pile on the runs. Jaddu's 50 coming up next ... waiting for the sword celebration

We can just bat them out of the game and ensure a series win.

Great to see a 100 run partnership for the 7th wicket, that too with two left handers - its been a long time

LOL !!

Virat was sitting in his whites in the dressing room. The Australian openers were looking upto the Indian dressing room post Pant's century to see if a declaration is coming. Kohli replaces his whites with the training jersey to tell them, declaration not happening anytime soon
