India tour of Australia - 2018/19

Fightback from Aussies. We haven't looked close to taking a wicket so far in the half hour

Hoping got Shami to turn up in his second innings avatar and pose some threat

Pressure building .. great bowling by Jaddu

Even though we are in the driver's seat, the fact that we are struggling to get Cummins out before he faces his 30th delivery (time and again) is very annoying.

Well Australia's best batsman bats at no.8 ..... Sums up the series for Australia.

2 more days remain[DOUBLEPOST=1546681408][/DOUBLEPOST]And we will get our first series win in AUS

To be honest, I see some potential in this batting line up. I think Marsh is just a waste. He's been there forever and just hasn't become a player of substance. Harris, Labuschagne and Head look the part. Khawaja is a good test bat and his failure has been a boon for the Indians.

I knew India would out-bat Australia this series, but the much hyped bowling of Australia has done well in patches. Cummins has been the most consistent and I have always said Lyon is world class but the moment we attack him, he will succumb. He has no fall back delivery and certainly no natural variation. Very disappointed with Starc and in particular Hazlewood. He has been too short. I thought he would eat some of the Indian batters alive.

Tbh can see Australia scoring 400 by tea tomorrow then putting India in and rolling them over for around 50 :facepalm

Imagine @asprin? *

Funny thing is that I was thinking something along the same lines - Australia come out with guns blazing aka T20 mode as they have got nothing to lose and everything to gain and remove the deficit. But please, 50 all out? That's a stretch for even someone like me :p

Yeah Aussies scoring big can vaguely see happening, but I agree 50 all out a bit harsh; if it happened this thread would explode:p

The only thing that concerns me right now is that Shastri has got a lifeline to extend his stay. As bad as Kohli is as a captain, him continuing on isn't as painful as seeing Mr.Coach stay there as his "Yes" man. I'm surprised he hasn't made any illogical statement as yet.

I think you missed it. He called this series win better and bigger than the 1983 World Cup win :facepalm:facepalm Plus he went on a bit of a rant again in the press conference

He is getting trolled big time on twitter

https://twitter.com/search?q="Ravi Shastri"&src=tren

Some Tweets:

Top 3 scorers of the series from India: 3. Rishabh Pant: 350 runs. 2. Cheteshwar Pujara: 521 runs. 1. Ravi Shastri: 650 bottles.

Team India performs well and earns all respect, Ravi Shastri loses whatever's left by giving stupid remarks series after series. Yes, [HASHTAG]#TeamIndia[/HASHTAG] has done a great job but how fair is it to demean World Cup heroes of 1983? Does he know the diff b/w this Aus Team & 1983's WI Team?

Ravi Shastri, what a big-mouth moron! He is the only disgraceful thing in this whole achievement and he is unleashed now that we have won.

Virat - i think we need a new..
Ravi shastri - bottle
KL rahul - Tattoo
Rohit - captain
Vijay - wife
Virat - .. strategy bc.

Achievements of different teams across era's cannot be compared. Questions like Kohli/Tendulkar, who's the better bat? Virat Kohli would probably never have picked a cricket bat without the impact of Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar would never have played cricket without being inspired by the 83' world cup. These achievements should be enjoyed and no two should be compared. It's a futile, worthless and endless argument/debate.

But, I guess Shastri had to be an asshole and make this all about his blasphemy! It's a terrific effort from Pujara and Bumrah. I think they both deserve a lot of credit.

Too much of criticisms over here now. We won such a big series and instead of celebrating people over here are trying to find out loopholes. Nobody compared this win to 1983 WC or anything it was just that it was as satisfying for the team as it was back then. The win was called bigger just because it was a win in the Test format. The real fans of the game look at what the team has done in all 3 forms of the game but they give Test format the prime importance because they know that winning a Test series is lot more difficult than winning an ODI tournament. This doesn't stand out as a disrespect to the ones who played the '83 WC but it was an appreciation towards the current squad for playing so well. We have dominated this series leaving the Perth Test and that is something that many sides fail to achieve in an Overseas Test series especially in Australia. To dominate Australia in Australia no matter how weak they are (infact they aren't that weak at all) is a really really good achievement especially in this format and this series will be remembered for a long long time. Australian Cricket Team with it's rich history and background is too good a side not to bring out good players from its Domestic Circuit. India as a team being dominant in Australia is like a dream and today it has come true. No matter how bad attitude does Kohli bring onto the field, no matter how arrogant he is at times and no matter what stupid comments does Ravi Shastri gives, this is the time when they actually should be appreciated to bring the best out of this team. If you can't appreciate better don't be critical :thumbs

Kohli has become immortalas a captain of India now
Like Pataudi who won in NZ
Like wadekar who won in England and west indies
Like Ganguly who won the 2001 series
If he wins the next SA tour, then he will truly become one of the best
