Cannot expect Virat to do an encore of the first innings and have ZERO faith in the rest of the lineup. Rahane might stick around for a few deliveries but he is just not in form. Pandya will jump around the crease and eventually get himself out. DK will again underperform. Ashwin will hold the fort for a few overs giving false glimpses of hope, but it will all be over today

I mean look at Rahane. Fishing at deliveries pitching on the 4th stump and moving again. Keep doing this and you will eventually edge one. He is in bad form so he is missing the ball by a margin, but for how long

To be honest, even Kohli was not winning us many overseas tests. One chancy innings here and everyone seems to make Kohli look as if he used to be our lone savior.

Vijay and Rahane were the better batters for us in overseas tests and they are both out of form and its costing us big. And the rubbish move to play Dhawan and leave Pujara out means our chance of getting a good start (which is so very crucial in tests in conditions where seeing off the new ball is an art by itself) goes away.

The last 4 test matches (including the current one) which India have played were almost been identical - low scoring games, managed to pick all 20 wickets,had a decent shot at winning the first 2 games vs SA but having said all of these matches have been really exciting to watch. The only thing constant was one brilliant inning from an individual and a collective batting faolure from the rest.

It was a pretty good move to push Ashwin up above Karthik and Pandya. If only Ashwin could've stayed 25-30 runs longer.

Its turning out to be Kohli vs England. Could not be a bad thing for India. Kohli might need to farm the strike as much as he can and get Karthik-Pandya into agreement that in order to win this test match, Kohli is the fulcrum around which the batting has to move forward from hereon.
