Vincent, perhaps, but they have found more than adequate replacement openers for him and Hamish Marshall. NZ are stronger than we are predicting, we are not going to just run through them in the ODIs, it'll be a very good contest.

Yeah, it's basically only Bond. Vincent and Marshall would be fringe players. Tuffey perhaps but I doubt it.

The thing with Bond is that he's been our best bowler since Hadlee. Second best bowler of all time for NZ and he can't play for us any more.

I am really looking forward to see the type of bounce Ishant gets from this pitches. If he can recapture those spells he bowled to dominate Ponting in Australia last year, he should have a brilliant series.

Haha yep it has been raining on and off most the summer (on normally during the WI series) but yesterday was by far the worst we have had this summer all our domestic T20 matches had to be canceled without a ball being bowled. It is better today, hope it clears before the tour starts.

Mills and Styris both out for the T20's and Oram will just be playing as a batsman. It's good to see they stuck with Nathan McCullum and Butler but I don't understand why they kept Elliot in the team over Franklin makes no sense.

Elliot is in good form from the Australia ODIs whereas Franklin didn't do well against WI and wasn't spectacular in the Australia T20I

Elliot was useless in the T20 and lost us the game I'm sorry but 21 after facing 30 balls or however many it was is just not good enough. As for Franklin he faced 3 balls and was run out for 3 trying to get the strike (because Elliot was sure not going to get the winning runs) I would hardly call that a chance. Elliot is like How in many ways solid ODI player but he shouldn't be anywhere near the T20 side.

^^ You chuck him after one bad game. Give the guy a good run. I like Elliot. Workman type player. I cant help but compare him to Paul Collingwood or Brendon Nash. Hmmm i wonder how the kiwis will handle Zaheer or Ishant (talking about ODIs and tests). I think the biggest challenge Vettori has is containing the openning partnership and getting his batting to click all together.

It's not that, it is just he is not suited for the shortest form of the game. He can't clear the boundary on demand like other players instead he just plays and misses most the time. Yes he is good at just knocking it around for singles but you need a bit more than that.

Having said that he will now probably hit it to all parts but I really hope hes not in the final XI.
