India tour of South Africa

I agree but Dhawan and Sharma don't have the skill either. Another left-field move I would try is have someone like Rahane or even Kohli bat at No.3. Pujara has the will to bat long but I doubt skill-wise he is Dravid like which means that the game doesn't move too much while he is at the crease leaving us prone to a collapse. A more free flowing No.3 would've made sense today with a decent start that we had got.

I agree with the skill point on Dhawan and Rohit 100%. I feel the same too. My point was about the other 4.

Also, I was one of Pujara's critics about his S/R but sometimes you have to bargain solidity for pace. I would certainly not move Pujara around, nor drop him. What good is a free flowing Dhawan?

We need Rahul and Vijay at the top with Rahane at 5. After that if we fail, so be it.

Damn it! I did indeed jinx him. Well played South Africa and deserve this win!

India blew away a great chance to take the 1 - 0 lead series

Float like a butterfly, Sting like AB!!!!

Wonder how some of those idiots feel about writing him off earlier and calling him over rated. :clap:spy

Well played SA and a deserved defeat for India as well. Its the first innings lead which has eventually made the difference here. Dare I say, that dropped catch of Maharaj and those runs by the lower order has eventually proved to the the difference. The talk can now stop and hope we realize that test cricket deserves respect and discipline to master in difficult conditions. Also, you cannot pick test players in overseas conditions based on home ODIs.

Also, one final time, LOL, Dhawan and Rohit as test batsmen!

This was great test match! SA deserved to win although India had their chance.

Wow!

So elated!

Thanks SA for breaking the Indians!

Star squad? Lmao!

Thumping defeat for India![DOUBLEPOST=1515423885][/DOUBLEPOST]

What chance? Dont be naive boy! India clearly are not equip to play fast bowling in these type conditions. They just cannot!

On another note, the first really good quality test match since the India-Australia series last year. I'm really looking forward to the next test. I feel that, for once, we have the bowling to put the opposition on the backfoot. They will only get better from here with their lengths. We will bat better if we keep picking the right side.

Finally, I hope we learn from this and never go into the first test of a tour without playing practice matches.

Being a big fan of Rohit, I admit he ain't a test material.

Amidst all this, spare a thought for Steyn. Arguably the greatest of our generation and without a doubt among the best ever, his career is finishing in a manner not befitting of his stature. Shame to see him break down in front of our eyes, he's probably finished. More than the physical impact, the mental toll of so many injuries might make it near-impossible for him to fully recover. Hope he's not judged by his last couple of years and instead by his entire career.

So you blaming the loss on India not playing a practice match?

Firstly they refused to play the practice match because they saw it beneath them to play against a first class team. Lastly its India’s fault for having the callendar so congested with IPL!
