India tour of South Africa

Short batting lineup for India today the tail is exposed!

Pitch negating well for the batsmen, anything over 250 is a very good score! Need Pujara to run the tail out!

Rabada starts of things after the tea interval, hoping for a wicket in this over!

Poor showing from SA bowling and fielding today. On this pitch with their quality and the Indians poor form the wickets should be reading like 8 out!

Surprised that Kohli didn't make a big score today. It was a lot like his first innings last game in that luck seemed to be going his way in all aspects. Easy catches (for SA's standards) being dropped, balls missing the edge by inches, inside edges going past the stumps, etc. When he did middle the ball he looked in superb touch and control and he generally doesn't miss out on starts so it's surprising indeed. Think a score of above 250 should give India at least a fighting chance.

This has been the best Pujara innings so far in his career outside the subcontinent. An innings define by full of patience and as Harsh Bhogle said practising abstinence.

If only Pujara could have gotten the chances Kohli did, he would have converted to a 100 I am sure[DOUBLEPOST=1516801288][/DOUBLEPOST]What happens now ...

two stroke makers on crease

I think India will fold up inside 170. I'm trying to make sense of the decision to bat first on this pitch and have been failing so far...

History! This pitch is known to quicken up a lot more on Day 2 becoming more harder for batsmen than Day 1. Remember that test match in 2006 under Dravid's captaincy where India got 249 on Day 1 and then Sreesanth blew South Africa out for 84? It was on the same ground.

But SA have ABD who will alone score 84 runs.

Good bating from india i was expecting we will be all out for 120 but now 200 is in sight but still very far.
I was very disapointed with Rahul. Atlest dhawan would have scored atleast 20 before getting out.
Patel instead of D.K (lol)
Rahane still has chance to prove himself in 2nd inning. If he fails i wonder when will he play his next test.[DOUBLEPOST=1516802355][/DOUBLEPOST]No pandya showdown Go bhuvi you are only our last hope.

Yep!

Virat made the right decision to bat first as I posted earlier. Other than Pujara no batsman seem intent on staying alive on this type of pitch! Indeed a fine inns by him.

The Indian fast bowlers could rout this lineup though.

I trust Bhuvi and Shami to take us to 200 and put them down at 20/5.
