India tour of South Africa

Didnt watch the match. Was just replying to Iodide that he said that the pitch must be rated poor.
The ball is jumping and kicking from good length.. Sometimes it is keeping low. Michael Holding on commentary rates this pitch as 2/10.

The problem with these kind of pitches are that batting 4th almost become incompetent be it a raging turner or wickets like this in Jo'burg. A team that wins the toss and bats first wins the match more often than not.

2/100. Not 10

He said, I will give this 2 and not out of 10 but 100.[DOUBLEPOST=1516958652][/DOUBLEPOST]Still, its a treat to watch 5 pacers play from both teams. Ball seaming and swinging hard here and there.

Superb batting from Vijay and Kohli today. Vijay's concentration when the ball was doing insane things was unbelievable and giving a killer like Kohli as many chances as South Africa have done on this tour is never a good idea. Think even a score of 125 will be extremely difficult to chase down, especially when facing a new ball. Bhuvaneshwar is an exceptional player too, extremely reliable when the going gets tough.

This pitch has to be rated poor, surely. The bounce seems really dangerous

For all the negatives that I have spoken about Kohli, India have shown gumption today. This side will now believe that they can do well overseas and match the opposition punch for punch. We will neither face tougher batting conditions, nor a better bowling lineup for the rest of the year. Kohli, Vijay, Pujara and now Rqhane have shown that they can stand uo to good fast bowling. These 30s, 40s and so are worth a hundred in better batting conditions. Just stick to this batting lineup guys and we will do well in England.

Another thing, a lot of sides would have just complained about thr conditions and backes out. We've taken blows and shown that we are in there to fight. This is something that can't be said about a lot of sides touring India.

Wait, did Holding say "It's a shit pitch" on air?
