then post that India hosts Eng and SA in India till March

April will bring IPL 2021

So next available slot for IPL 2020 will be after IPL 2021

Also, cancellation of IPL 2020 is outrageous as millions of dollars have already been invested. Its one thing to cancel it before the inception of all operations, whole another thing to cancel it after everything is in place.

Only viable option is to isolate the involved ones and let the other go through

Raina's uncle & family was sleeping in the terrace. It's so painful. May his uncle's soul rest in peace! Horrible time for Raina family. I think MSD will guide Chinna Thala in this situation.

Everything bad that could happen for CSK, has happened to them so far. Feeling very sad for Raina and his family at the moment. Definitely he cannot be in any decent frame of mind to take part of the tournament while his family is grieving back home. Its sad that the media is resorting to conjectures that Raina is scared of Corona, is chickening out like a coward, blah blah... The Indian media in the past few months has stooped to really disgusting lows (the Sushant case and all that drama around it is another example).

Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad have tested positive, it seems. Hope both of them recover soon and also hope no other players test positive anymore. There's still time for CSK to get back on their feet and kickstart the tournament. I think it makes sense for the IPL organizers to start the tournament with different teams and put CSK-MI game at a later stage. Yes these two teams were the finalists last year but in a crazy world, you don't really need to stick to that rule of starting with the finalists of previous year. So it makes sense that the IPL schedule has not yet been released. Better start with other teams and give CSK the time to recuperate.

From a CSK perspective, they will miss a left hander in their batting top order more than they miss Suresh Raina. Raina has honestly had underwhelming IPL's for the last 2-3 seasons and despite his limited impact, CSK won a title and ended runner up in last 2 seasons. I think time is ripe for the likes of Ruturaj and/or Jagadeesan to be considered. Rayudu is likely to be the No.3 for us this season. I also think Kedar Jadhav will have a role to play this season. Hope he's up for it.

Tiwari would be areally great pick, if Dhoni uses him well. I remember him being massively unused in the RPSG setup when he would bat at 6 or 7.

I doubt if CSK would seek replacement for Raina. He is one of the icon players for CSK, despite having underwhelming seasons. The fact that he is IPL's all time run getter and that even his off seasons yield 400+ runs will make the franchise stick to him. And not to forget - he is a potential captaincy option when Dhoni quits (personal opinion - I don't want Raina to captain CSK post Dhoni).

I still think Raina has a few years of good IPL's left and CSK would want to keep him on their side. If any other batsman gets injured and is ruled out, then I think CSK would seek a replacement for that batsman.

CSK management need to be proactive right now. I assume, Yusuf Pathan may replace Suresh Raina. Manoj Tiwary may also get a chance! CSK need a brute batting all-rounder.

They should get Pujara! I know he is not a smasher but CSK needs someone solid post Dhoni, who knows this would be Pujara’s second innings in limited overs.

Oh and he does have a hundred in T20 cricket playing in Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament. Not a bad strike rate of 110 and averaging 30.. which is the 50’s of ODI!
