Sounds more like a cover up to the damage that he caused yesterday. But one thing this shows is, N Srinivasan has understood and seen what Raina means to the CSK fandom. The CSK backend team has obviously appraised him of the outpouring of concern that CSK fans have shown towards Raina on social media, since yesterday's damaging comments from this moron.

One good thing to come out of this is that, Ruturaj has caught the eyes of the important people in the CSK management. N Srinivasan endorsing him to take Raina's place and his comment about Ruturaj impressing Dhoni sounds promising. The guy desperately needs a chance in the IPL to show his talent. If Ruturaj plays at No. 3, then Rayudu opens with Watson. I guess Rayudu and Ruturaj can swap places easily with each other depending on the situation. With Raina not there, Curran or Santner could get picked because of their left handed batting variety.

Lynn has been terrific in UAE whenever he played there. He scored a 100 in T10 last year. I think De Kock at top would give Rohit a little more freedom to play himself in not compromising team's scoring rate much in the Powerplay and being a left-right combination helps a little more. I don't see Ishan Kishan getting much games this season considering he isn't doing great in last 2 years.

But he has to do well with the bat and not in the field. We don't need a 2016-17 version of Jadeja in MI.

MI do have a lot of good fielders, only Bumrah is an exception who too is a good fielder of his own bowling.

Richardson wouldn’t have been of much use, considering the presence of Steyn, Morris and Udana as the overseas pacers. But neither would be Zampa. They should’ve gone for a quality middle order batsman instead.

I wouldn't move Rohit for sure. He wasn't doing that well in the middle order in 2017 & 2018 IPL while he performed well as an opener the entire season in 2019. My line up would be

Lynn has only two shots versus spinners. The sweep and the reverse sweep. Playing him at three would be very risky.

I honestly believe that Mumbai are the only side that need no alterations to their title winning XI. Would like to see Hardik bat at five or even four if spinners were to play a more prominent role, a few sixes from him in the middle overs could really change the momentum of an innings.

Why I wouldn't have thought of him being in the playing XI is because Dhoni prefers experience over talent as seen over the years. It would be a great deal to have him though.

It would make sesnse for Parthiv to open with Finch while Kohli & De Villiers at 3 & 4 respectively with Moeen and Gurkeerat to follow. That would make the side more balanced. Don't know why they want Finch and Kohli to open unnecessarily and spoil the balance of the side. De Villiers in all honesty shouldn't be there for keeping at all.

Kohli said that he wants to bat at three with a view to preparing for the T20 World Cup (which is now postponed.. but the point still stands). Padikkal and Finch will be the openers without any doubt.

Not sold on AbD keeping either as it robs RCB of an outstanding fielder which the team needs given how often they crumble in the field. But if it allows you to play Padikkal instead of Parthiv, it is an experiment worth conducting.

I still hope Ruturaj recovers in time from COVID and tests negative soon enough so that he can start practicing and be available for CSK's first game. In a team like CSK, you need to put yourself available from the beginning as others can come in, blaze away and you're stuck on the sidelines for the rest of the season.

Better to go for Sandeep Lamichanne on dry pitches instead of Hetmyer. Rahane can bat no. 3 and everyone else comes one position down. Also gives Iyer the no. 4 spot at which he will be batting for India.
