Wonder what goes through Malinga's mind when Kohli rips him apart day in day out?
I think the new rule of two new balls from both ends has gone against Malinga. Malinga is far more threatening with an older ball, particularly when it starts to reverse but two new balls, the ball remain harder for most of the match and as a result, there is minimum or no reverse swing for Lasith which is why I think he is failing more often than he ever did. Also, Virat has got a nice way to tackle him. He just waits for the ball and when Malinga gets full and straight, Kohli without trying anything fancy tucks the ball on the leg side for some runs.

superb finish in the end. kohli with this form at this age if he continues like this surely he will beat sachin odi records.

Sir Viv Richards is the fastest to score 4000 runs in 88 innings while Kohli has scored 3863 runs in 86 innings. He needs 137 runs in next match to break the record or in the next 2 matches to equal the record.
If Raina can keep this form up for the World T20, maybe Yuvraj can take it slow with his comeback trial. Raina and Kohli with this form will be major assets for India when we get into the World T20. This series has helped us identify good players for the T20 World Cup. Irfan is a sureshot now for the T20 World Cup. Rohit has almost sealed his fate with this poor show. Manoj Tiwary's 4 wkts today might be a lucky thing, but occasionally he can chip in with his bowling and his batting is sound enough.
I wish Raina makes better use of the opportunities and follows the Ganguly route of converting his limited talent into a very successful career by using his vibrant attitude and determination. Saurav had the same short ball problem in test cricket, yet when he ended his career, he had a very successful test career too. For starters, I would dump Rohit from the test squad and have Raina in there as backup. Pujara obviously should get in and get directly into the XI in place of the retired Dravid. But instead of having Rohit Sharma as the backup batsman, I would have Raina in there as the backup batsman.

Raina should actually put a word through Dhoni to Srinivasan & Srikkanth. Being part of the CSK side, I find it hard to hear that Raina can't get his way with the BCCI boss/chief selector and get a county stint. The county season is going on right now, and it would have been more beneficial for Raina to play there instead of playing for India right now. Its not like Raina is missing out on playing for CSK. We are not playing IPL right now.
