India's Tour of Sri Lanka

Ignore him Manee, he's doing the same thing with English cricket. There's a lot of biterness in that boy.

You rarely see a team not reach 400 with a double centurion in their team. Well done Sehwag.

Let's not turn this into a flame war (still not to up with internet terms, so correct me if that is wrong); I've given him a friendly warning and that should do for now.

Well done indeed. It truly was a very fine knock and Sehwag is in a piece of sublime form, with runs against Australia in Australia and Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka, two of the toughest tours for India. I believe the media will make a lot of Sehwag turning down a single to protect Ishant while on 199 as well as playing a reverse sweep while on 199 to score some quick runs.

I'd rate Sehwag's inning higher than any of his triple century knocks easily. India are in the game purely due to his efforts.

Cricket is all topsy turvy.

The effect in India's first innings sort of conveys what I was thinking about in the last Test. Whether batsmen understand Mendis is going to be at times secondary to how hard it is for lower orders to deal with this sort of attack. Although the middle order struggled, with a batsman getting a huge score, in good batting conditions you tend to count on the tail to give support and get close to 400 (which still seems like it would be at the lower end of the scale for all the runs that batsmen have been thumping). With Kumble, Harbhajan, Khan and Sharma, India have a pretty good tail for supporting an attacking batsman, so the kicker is that this sort of bowling attack pulls the rug from under those players. Now Sri Lanka also have a sturdy tail, so if they do collapse in the middle order, they might be able to count on them to make much more runs than India and if they don't collapse, they could repeat what they got in the first Test.

214/5 Sri Lanka at the end of Day 2.
Sets the test match up very nicely. India must make sure they do not let the tail hurt them this time because if it does, they`ll pay a huge price. Any lead would be a bonus for either side.

Sri Lanka are slightly ahead as they have both the Jayawardene`s still in there.

In fact, we now have 2 really good test matches going on simultaneously !

Excellent batting by Sehwag, when he gets going he never stops... He has proved his worth once again in test cricket... good bowling by Mendis... SL batsmen look to be in trouble now... Harbhajan took the important wickets... this match is getting interesting now

Stop trolling Indian cricket.

Anyway, India have Sri Lanka 145/3 with Harbhajan picking up two quick wickets after tea.
Hold up -

At the stage that SL were at, when I made the post (135/1), that was looking to be the result.

Bhajji did well to bring India back into the game, but you cannot call me a troll for predicting what was likely to happen if Sri Lanka were to continue their run-festival.

And guess what - Dravid, Tendulkar, and Ganguly - India's "Big 3" have not done well on this tour.

Sehwag's innings isn't gonna happen everyday. 290 was a very predictable score by India in the second innings.

There, I've defended my statements and thus countered your accusation that I'm trolling Indian cricket.

Anyway, game's in the balance now. India need quick wickets tomorrow, Sri Lanka need Jayawardene and Jayawardene to bat through lunch.

Assuming Jayawardene gets his 3rd test double hundred in 3 matches at Galle, Sri Lanka will probably have "batted out" India, unless Sehwag can produce another master-piece.

This test hasn't seen very many successful reviews - I think one in this test, and the other three were in the 1st test match.

India are in a fantastic position having the Sirils at 215-5.

We need to strike early tomorrow and wrap them upat around 290/300. Then, get about 250 on the board and ask them to chase that on day five.

I honestly think India will be extremely fortunate to get rid of Sri Lanka at 290/300.

The only way I feel that is going to happen is if Mahela Jayawardene is stranded at the other end - he's looking well set for a 100 and beyond.

And the other point to be made is the keeper Jayawardene can hold a bat, as can Vaas.

A 20-30 run lead in this game will be VERY valuable. The big question is, whose going to get it?

We have a day three pitch to work with, Harbhajan and Kumble bowling relatively well.

Toss Zaheer the ball early tomorrow and use the first half an hour witch seams around a bit. I'm guessing that could pick up Pras.
