India's Tour of Sri Lanka

^^ Right, he is a classic player in Domestic form but needs practice more

As for Karthik, he will not be in the XI when Dhoni comes back. All Karthik supporters go back to the England series and only the England series. Surely there must be other performances to support his position in the team?

I agree.. Karthik is not going to be in the team for long, and I see no reason why he should be played up the order, thereby sacrificing Sehwag's belligerent starts (when he is in form, which he is in right now). Dhoni is a much better bat down the order than Karthik, and when he returns, that spot will be better off and Sehwag can remain at the top.

More importantly, a potentially great opening pair in all forms of cricket for India is being created (Sehwag and Gambhir). They complement each other brilliantly and they now open for India in all forms of cricket. They should not be seperated. Its very much like Akash Chopra and Sehwag. Only difference here is, Gambhir also can play aggressively when needed but he tries to play a similar role to Akash Chopra.

Karthik will get better, he's still pretty young. The talent is obvious, he just needs to start backing that up more, and I'm sure with age, that consistency will come.

Indian fans, Would u guys welcome back mo kaif if one of the big four retires soon.

IMO, these are the next players who deserve a nod in order.
1. badri
2. sharma
3. venu

I wont bring back Dhoni now. It would be great disservice to Parthiv. Lets try him. Karthik has been having a horrid time behind the stumps. Parthiv might have the same. Parthiv can also be expected to bat a little better.

True... Parthiv is a more patient batsman than Karthik but I am not sure if he can perform well so i would bring Dhoni back at any cost

Iam not at all satisfied with Kumble`s captaincy. He seems to just carry on going with the same plan even if it is not fetching wickets.
You`ve got to change it around sometimes.
Maybe, bring Sachin or Sehwag in to bowl.

I`d bring in Zaheer from one end to see if it is reversing.

Although they are not running away with it, the game is gradually going away from India. We are looking very flat out there, especially Kumble.

Kumble is bowling way too many balls on the leg stump. He is trying to get some turn out of the rough, maybe. But it is not Kumble`s mode of operation.

I agree. He needs to ameka change now. Sri Lanka have made a good start to the day with the two Jayawardene's, and if they can both ton up India are pretty much done and dusted for this Test Match.

I think we`ll need a lead of 50 here to feel confident. I do not see our middle-order lasting very long on this wicket against the 2 `M`s with the current form that they`re in.
Add to that the woeful record of our batsmen even on good tracks in the second innings of a game.
You could even bet on Sehwag and Sachin getting out cheaply in the second innings.

The new ball will be due in 5 overs but I bet Kumble will not take that.
UPDATE :

As I type, Bhajji gets Prasanna J`wardena. Now he`ll surely not take the new ball quickly.
Vaas will be in next but I`d rather have him facing the new ball than the spinners. As we saw in India`s tour of Australia earlier this year, the tailenders tend to be quite a thorn in our flesh.

For Dravid's fans:

Tough times for resilient but out-of-form Dravid

GALLE: 'The Wall' is a hard-earned title, but has former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid done justice to his reputation lately? Although he was a bit unfortunate to be given out in the first innings of the ongoing second Test against Sri Lanka here when replays showed the ball had ricocheted off the fielder's helmet, Dravid's recent report card is a long string of single-digit scores.

His performance, or the lack of it, is getting the reticent Dravid just the kind of scrutiny he would like to avoid. Even the fact that he went past Sunil Gavaskar's runs tally merited only a passing mention.

Middle order and tail crushed after a promising start and it is Harbhajan who bowls his best innings in 3 years. Madness.

kumble is a "medium pacer" dosent spin the bowl...when he comes to bowl its mention
Anil Kumble
Right arm "leg spin".

He just bowls quick flipper, dosent spin the ball, dosent use wrong'un/leg spin.

That should be corrected to medium pacer.Few years before he use to even bowl yorkers and get wickets....
What say?

He bowls googlies regularly and he got Jayawardene out on a nice leg break.
