India's Tour of Sri Lanka

That was a thumping win, SL batsmen were doing nothing, Samaraweera was the only one left standing...

Well played bhajji, ishant, mendis and of course sehwag

very surprising win, but watching sehwag batting was a treat :happy

i hope they can carry on this momentum into the decider

However great Sehwag is, I wouldn't say his footwork overall is great. He handles spinners very very well though.
Yeah, that's what I meant about it being an interesting situation, because his lack of footwork is generally criticised, but it was his technically superior team mates who looked awkward and had trouble staying ahead of Mendis.

Unlike other ranked 4 teams India turned it around especially after an embarrassing loss. Congrats. Though it is worrying that our middle order is struggling. If Sehwag fails then what? India shouldn't be celebrating just yet.

i hope the middle order comes good in the 3rd test, its about time they do.

Dravid & Ganguly will have a good comeback in the coming test & Sachin leading Lara's Record:D

Yes, I guess that is what has him going, Lara's record. Question to you, looking at his recent performances and form, not just in this seriesm but previous one as well, you would know much better than me, after he gets the record, do you see someone in India at this time that can or will replace him??

Sharma is the most obvious, being from Mumbai and everything.

Tell me something, based on current form, and maybe even past series and months, how long would or will they continue with Dravid & Ganguly, and within India FC and current season (if one is on going) are there guys that can come in and integrate immediately into the team, from a batting avenue only??

S.Badrinath has a very good FC record with 4576 runs at 56.49 (obviously nowhere near that of Dravid or Tendulkar but better than Laxman or Ganguly). He played well for India A, showing no sort of issue against high quality bowling such as South Africa A, against whom he has scored a sublime double century.

Parthiv Patel was in similarly good form for India A prior to the Indian season, but he continued to flourish (albeit in the Plate League - the 'Division Two' of Ranji Trophy) where Badrinath fell away slightly toward the end of the season. The selectors appear to favour him more, as he has played for India before and offers the keeping too. Parthiv has a poor career FC record, but he was a young player who has matured, imo rather than a poor player with a good season.

Mohammad Kaif was disasterous for India A but did well in the Ranji Trophy Elite (the Division One) and has the Test experience and long ODI career under his belt which puts him in good stead with the selectors. He has had a long, steady FC career, but an average of 41.12 on the flat Indian decks hardly screams of a future inspiring Test prospect.

Rohit Sharma is a joke of a selection. His main problem in ODIs has been pushing on after good starts - he has just one FC century (albeit 205) and they are talking of Test selection, what madness. His average of 37.21 in FC cricket is hardly great either.

Badrinath easily, he has been unlucky not to get a call up already. Plus, I still believe that Manoj Tiwary is a better/more talented player than Rohit Sharma, but he isn't Test quality yet.
