India's Tour of Sri Lanka

India score 342/5 off 50 overs with Yuvraj Singh amassing 172(121) - how apt.

Well Yuvi is one player who can win India games. But I dont put money on him against Lankans. M&M will take care off him as he is very poor starter against quality spin.

As for Badri, he can fulfill Dravid role in ODI team and I have no compaint against South Indians as many of my South Indian friends think :p

Yuvi should play defensively while playing M&Ms but when bowlers like Thushara, Kullaseka bowl, he should just hit it out of the park

You can't play conservatively for 20 overs. It's clichéd but the best form of defence is attack. You can't let them get on top of you because they take wickets in such quick succession. Before you know it, you'll have played 20 balls with no runs on the board. You have to look to be positive or else the pressure will get to you and that's when you go for some audacious shots like Dinesh Karthik did in the recently concluded test series.

That line from me was for fun, sid. Nothing serious

On the warm up match, good from Yuvraj but when he comes in to bat in the ODI's, he will be mostly up against the M&M and I expect him not to do this well against the now 'famous spin duo'. He is almost like a sitting duck against spin, though I hope he corrects that soon as he is a guy who can win matches for India in brutal and violent fashion (his hitting would be like that). He needs to correct his technique and temperament against spin.

I think it would be difficlut to win in SL,speciall in absense of Tendulkar, and also it is diffuclt to score in Mendis and Murlitharan 10+10=20 overs,at least it wont be easy to win series. They will have to try in all 3 sections batting, bowling and feilding well, otherwise the series will go to SL

Dhoni feels :
The Island nation has always been one of the toughest venues for India but Dhoni hopes his young brigade would grab the opportunity and come good to make a mark in the absence of seniors like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman.
Dhoni has contended that the visitors were energised with inclusion of youngsters Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, Subramaniam Badrinath, Irfan Pathan and Praveen Kumar.

"Sri Lanka is one of the toughest places to play cricket as you don't get a lot of runs on slow, low wickets. You have to always stay positive," he said.

That's just prolonging the inevitable. I mean, be sensible about it and if you see it early, if it's there to be launched, why not? Just keep ticking it along, I guess, and not go into a shell.

Sehwag is doubtful, having twisted his ankle and Virat Kohli is set to replace him if he doesn't play, unfortunately.

India (likely) 1 Gautam Gambhir, 2 Virat Kohli, 3 Suresh Raina, 4 Yuvraj Singh, 5 Mahendra Singh Dhoni (capt & wk), 6 Rohit Sharma, 7 Irfan Pathan, 8 Pragyan Ojha, 9 Harbhajan Singh, 10 Zaheer Khan, 11 Munaf Patel.

Why does Irfan keep getting a chance!? It really frustrates me. How much worse does he have to do before they realize he simply isn't good enough anymore!?

And why the heck are we opening with Kohli, I know he did well for the emerging side but he is a middle order player. A reserve opener should have been in the squad, Uthappa like Manee said, or Dhawan (who deserves it so much more than Kohli or Uthappa at the moment).
