India's Tour of Sri Lanka

I am betting that Punjab will produce the fastest bowler for India in the future. They are the only people in India who have the physique to get great pace.

No Punjabis are most lethargic people. We love to eat big and then sleep.

Can you tell me a fast bowler from Punjab in recent times who has successfully played for India for a substantial amount of time? VRV Singh promised, but has been wayward whenever he played for India. Ishant is there gunning for the fastest bowler for India. Its just that he doesnt work up too much pace on Indian wickets as it would become too easy for the batsman to have the ball come fast to the bat and hit it.

:rtfl

And yuvi is best player of spin. :p
In terms of the pacemen, it's quite valid, he is expensive but penetrative, even in India. Which figures do you want more, 2/60 or 0/50? Sreesanth seems to be the one most likely to get wickets while being carted. His best bowling performances have generally been delivered at more than 5 runs an over and that 6/55 is the best out of any in the current setup. He has the strike rate of a great bowler, just not the economy. In matches where you need to buy wickets, he becomes a pretty important player.

Yes and I think it is his aggression which makes him weaker in area of economy rate. But still He can get you a price wickets.
Well India batting first on Flat wicket.Good to see Gambhi back.10er for his fifty. ;)
Anything under 280 would be easy chase.

Great umpiring.Giving out a LBW when bowl pitched out side of leg stump is just insane.\

Three wickets down and the spinners haven't even bowled yet. A big score was on the cards here and most certainly possible on this pitch but I see the run rate slowing down magnanimously when Mendis comes into bowl. Hardly anyone takes risks against him already and it doesn't help that you're three down now before he's even bowled an over.

This is Badrinath's chance to shine and get a big one - good luck to him.

Come on Badrinath . . .

We can still put on 250 if we bat well. We still have the dependable Dhoni and Rohit Sharma to come. If we lose two wickets in quick succession, we'll be in massive trouble.

As I type this Vaas gives a very good LBW shout, given not out but looked quite out to me. . .

India2011 added 39 Minutes and 24 Seconds later...

NO! Badrinath gone!

I hope Rohit Sharma scores a duck, but somehow India still wins. That way we'll be leading the series, and Badrinath will play the next game.

The ball isn't really coming on and it doesn't seem like the runsfest that was promised, but the 230-240 they're headed for seems scratchy.

No Ball by 1 feet and still Dhoni misses on Free hit.
