Score update:

Australian Prime Minister's XI v Pakistan A - 3 day First Class match 1991/2 - Hobart

Pakistan A 172 all out (71.2 overs)
(Rizwan-uz-Zaman 27, Zahid Fazal 22, Manzoor Elahi 53; S.P.O'Donnell 3-31, C.R.Miller 6-51)

Pakistan A bowled out cheaply shortly after Tea on Day 1 of their 3 day warm up match.
A strong attack, lead by Colin Miller who bowled a mix of medium pace and then off spin to take 6-51.
Allrounder Manzoor Elahi's patient half century was the only resistance for the visitors.

Pitch was wearing too slowly in that one and was too flat, Pakistan A in Australia are having problems lasting 3 days on livelier pace bowling pitches.
Zimbabwean pitches are generally a bit dry and slow, often good for batting, though sometimes you might get some early greeness or late spin.
There is a pitch roll before the match, 11 possible pitches for each ground in each decade, so far the pitches in Zimbabwe have been good for batting and worn slowly.
But yes, it is hard to get a result in a 3 day match, but I don't mind it for warmup games, the last 4 day match between India A and West Indies A dragged on a bit.
For teams not Test standard I prefer 3 days unless it is an A Test to prevent one sided matches.
But yes, hard to get a result in 3 days without declarations or a batting collapse.
In those two matches I felt the only chance for the team batting first was to enforce the follow on on a wearing pitch, so batted on a bit too long.

Score update:

Pakistan A 172 all out

Australian Prime Minister's XI 329 all out (97.4 overs)
(W.N.Phillips 51, M.T.G.Elliott 48, D.M.Jones 28, R.T.Ponting 30, B.J.Hodge 68, A.C.Gilchrist 46, C.R.Miller 23; Naved Anjum 2-81, Aamer Malik 2-31, Saqlain Mushtaq 3-45, Shakeel Ahmed 2-57)

A decent performance by Pakistan A in the field but they find themselves trailing by 157 on first innings and in danger of an innings defeat.
The spinners bowled well, justifying the selection of 3 specialists ahead of another seamer.
With over 7 hours left in the match there is plenty of time to force a result.

Score update, Stumps, Day 2:

India A v West Indies A - 4th Unofficial 4 day Test 1991/2 - Kanpur

India A 247 all out (82.3 overs)
(V.G.Kambli 89, Gursharan Singh 30, Joshi 46, M.Venkataramana 32*; A.H.Gray 4-47, F.A.Rose 2-64, O.D.Gibson 2-49, I.B.A.Allen 2-73)

West Indies A 268/5 (91 overs)
(S.C.Williams 144*, K.L.T.Arthurton 21, S.Chanderpaul 28, R.D.Jacobs 33*; S.B.Joshi 3-43)

A green pitch on day 1 made life difficult for the home side against West Indies A's 4 seam bowlers, before brilliant batting by Stuart Williams with 144* put the visitors on top.
With two days left all results are still possible, and quick wickets could see India A back in the game on a wearing pitch that will assist the spinners on the final day.

Score update:

India A v West Indies A - 4th Unofficial 4 day Test 1991/2 - Kanpur

India A 247 all out

West Indies A 444 all out (147 overs)
(S.C.Williams 237, K.L.T.Arthurton 21, S.Chanderpaul 28, R.D.Jacobs 65, A.H.Gray 25*; S.T.Banerjee 2-95, N.D.Hirwani 3-85, S.B.Joshi 5-89)

India A 22/2 (6 overs)

A brilliant double century to West Indies A opener Stuart Williams gave his side a 197 run first innings lead on Day 3 of the 4th Unofficial Test.
Needing to win this match to have a chance of winning the series, the visitors dismissed both openers cheaply in India A's 2nd innings to put themselves right on top shortly before Tea on Day 3.

Young Zimbabweans v England A - 50 over List A match 1991/2 - Harare

Young Zimbabweans 112/1 (25 overs)
(G.J.Rennie 56*, C.B.Wishart 38*; S.L.Watkin 1-27)

Young Zimbabweans off to a good start on a Normal pitch, but the scoring slowing against the England A spinners.
With wickets in hand the home side look good for 240 or more, but wickets to the England A spinners could change things.

Young Zimbabweans v England A - 50 over List A match 1991/2 - Harare

Young Zimbabweans 221/9 (50 overs)
(G.J.Rennie 67, C.B.Wishart 46, G.J.Whittall 55; S.L.Watkin 3-41, P.C.R.Tufnell 3-29)

Gavin Rennie and Craig Wishart set the home side up for a good total, and Guy Whittall's half century kept the later innings going.
Tight spin bowling by Phil Tufnell restricted the Young Zimbabweans in the middle overs and England A would feel this target is gettable with their batting lineup.

Young Zimbabwe v England A - 50 over List A match 1991/2 - Harare

Pitch: 5 - Normal

Weather: 1 - Hot and sunny

Toss: Young Zimbabwe

Young Zimbabwe won the toss and batted first, and opener Gavin Rennie with number 3 Wishart laid a strong platform.
Allrounder Guy Whittall made sure the good start wasn't wasted, though most of the others struggled against an accurate Phil Tufnell.
England's reply never got going, and a late charge from keeper Rhodes could only cut the margin of defeat.
Legspinner Paul Strang claimed 5 wickets as a succession of batsmen perished trying to match a mounting required run rate, and in the end the home side won by a margin of 30 runs.

Young Zimbabwe won by 30 runs

(R.B.Richardson 58*, C.A.Best 21*)

SLC XI v West Indies - T20 match 1991/2 - P.Saravanamattu Stadium, Colombo

West Indies 175/4 (20 overs)
(R.B.Richardson 123*, C.A.Best 44; E.A.Upasantha 3-16)

West Indies captain Richie Richardson flayed an out of sorts SLC XI attack, reaching his hundred off 51 balls.
Apart from Upasantha with 3-16 off 4 overs, the rest of the attack went for around 10 per over as Richardson and Best overcame the early loss of the openers.
At the halfway mark West Indies appear to be well on the way to a win on a pitch that should give their pace bowlers some assistance.

Pitch: 6B - Dry and slightly cracked - some help for F and FM bowlers

West Indies won the toss, and feeling they had nothing to fear from the Sri Lankan pace attack, batted first.
They lost both openers to the new ball, before Richardson blew the opposition away.
Blasting his way to 100 off 51 balls, the West Indies captain reached 123* by the end of their 20 overs with the total at 175/4.
SLC XI were given a great start by their openers as they brought up 50 inside the first 6 overs thanks to a flurry of boundaries from Kuruppu.
It didn't last, the accurate West Indies seam attack eventually wearing the batting down, and giving the visitors a well earned 31 run victory.

India A v West Indies A - 4th Unofficial 4 day Test 1991/2 - Kanpur

Pitch: 4

Sent in on a Green pitch, India A were all out for 247 in their first innings, the 4 West Indies A pace bowlers sharing the wickets.

With a lead of 197 and plenty of time left, West Indies A looked poised for victory, but rain, bad light, and a century to a young Rahul Dravid saved the home side.
The draw leaves India A with a 1-0 lead in the series with the final match in Bangalore to come.
