International Cricket 2010 Impressions Thread

I haven't received the game yet, but I have a thought on a challenging (but not impossible) HUD system. Perhaps only a single dot appears on the pitch. It occurs 2 seconds before the ball is delivered, and it lasts for 1 second in duration. That way, you are not over-informed about ball direction, swing ect, but you are provided with just a hint of pitch location. Is this what you were saying, Wee? Have I just gone and plagiarised your post?

That's pretty much what I was thinking matey, it was a bit late for me to post coherently.

Wee Cooper added 8 Minutes and 19 Seconds later...

I've just put the game on with my Turtle Beach headset on. Just noticed how much the sounds have been improved in this game. Every snick, footstep etc sounds fantastic. I hadn't noticed before as I'd just played through a normal speaker setup. Nice job.

I swear someone said that this happens in hud off mode now. Pretty sure it was Matt W or someone who play tested the game.

Supershtuffthat added 12 Minutes and 42 Seconds later...

sorry, it wasnt Matt W, it was lazy chestnut:

You see the pitch point at the very last moment. Just before the bowler releases the ball. I think the time at which it appears is based on the batsman's judgement rating.

Could someone please confirm if this is the case?

How's everyone doing with the achievments/trophies? There easy gamer points if you ask me. No challenge what so ever. I only need the 50 over world cup and the ipl cup to get them all.
Bowling wise ive noticed collingwood is handy, as he is in reality. I played the world t20 final and he got 2-1-4-3. Sure he'd be over the moon with that?!
What angle are people useing for the action cam with bowling? I find it better with the over the shoulder rather than the knee cap height.

Got 20g, the tutorials and the 50 one but not really trying to get them at the moment.

Wasn't really sure where to ask but would it be alright to post up some online Xbox tournament or is the any procedures that I have to go for, permision etc?

I'd like to know what Action Cam is like when it comes to playing hooks and pulls? It looks great for shots in front of the wicket in the videos I've seen, but how is it for those shots, and other shots behind the wicket?

I'd say Action cam makes hooks and pulls much easier with the HUD on. It's the real full length yorker I'm having trouble getting away. Sometimes the timing on the shorter deliveries can be difficult to judge, but it's easier to hit those deliveries away than it is with the 90mph yorker, which I guess is realistic. It's just frustrating when you need 8/9 at the death and their bowlers bowl you 6 yorkers which you can't score off.

Thanks for that.

Sorry if this has been answered, but what's the sound like? The usual things: bat on ball, crowd chants and so on.

Dont have it but found this quote, also a few have said the sounds are different in Action Cam than Broadcast, so there must be new material.

Maybe the sounds for Action cam make it feel more like you're out there in the middle, which is a good thing if that is the case.

The sounds for action cam are louder than broadcast. I haven't actually noticed the sounds being better compared to previous versions though. Still can't believe Brian Lara Cricket has the best sounds of any cricket game....

I will eventually post up some thoughts on this game when I've given it a thorough going over.

Stevie the sounds in CR were comparable to BLC99. The crack of leather on willow was delicious in CR.

The action cam is ok for test matches, where you can take your time. But it's giving me a hard time in t20's.

Thats a good thing right? Usually with cricket games people are going at 15 rpo after a week. Just about everyone is struggling.

Ill ask my question again now that its been a while.

Has anyone won a Test match on Hard with Action Cam and no HUD for batting and bowling?
