IPL Fixing.

I did not understand why stop a league when the players have already been punished this is kind of racist man.

Are you drunk? What is racist? I agree the entire league should not be shut but calling it racist is just out of line.

If Dhoni said that Meiyappan was a cricket enthusiast, he would definitely have been arm twisted to say that. I mean how can you expect Dhoni to go against his own employer, when his livelihood depends on him (they are indirectly the bosses of Indian cricket)? If Dhoni goes against NSR and his company, he is doomed.

As long as Dhoni is not involved in the crime, I wouldn't blame him in any of this. I wouldn't be surprised if people like Sachin, Dravid, etc do the same thing that Dhoni did (if they were in his shoes).

yes, the Indian Supreme Court are being racist by threatening the Board of Control for Cricket in India with the cancellation of the Indian Premier League unless those involved in match fixing are dealt with. How very much dare they!

The supreme court is making all the right calls that we wanted as a cricket fan, lets see how it goes.

Sunil Manohar Gavaskar replaces Narayanaswamy Srinivasan as the interim BCCI president who will take charge of activities involving IPL alone. I still feel after IPL is over either Ganguly or Kumble must be made the BCCI President. Also good that CSK and RR are not banned which would be a a bad news. But i strongly feel that the ownership must be canceled for both India Cements and Jaipur Cricket Pvt Ltd and both the teams must be put for bidding and i am sure they will have buyers unlike what happened to Kochi Tuskers sadly.

100cr defamation case or not this is what proves he is guilty, may be not of match fixing or betting but lying to the most superior court regarding Meya whatever's role in CSK team.

Dhoni lied to the SC ... when? He has never even appeared before the SC. What he may or may not have said outside the court, doesn't make him guilty of perjury, or as you put it lying to the SC.

Dhoni can be guilty of lying to the SC only when he appears before the SC and lies under oath. Till then whatever sound bytes he may give to who ever means nothing.

The Times of India on Dhoni committing perjury said:
It all goes back to what Dhoni told the Justice Mudgal Probe Committee that was set up by the Supreme Court to look into the allegations of match-spot fixing in the IPL 6. According to Mudgal report, "Mr MS Dhoni, Mr N Srinivasan and officials of India Cements took the stand that Mr Meiyappan (Gurunath) had nothing to do with the cricketing affairs of Chennai Super Kings and was a mere cricket enthusiast supporting CSK."

Again, I don't think appearing before a committee set up by the SC is the same as appearing before the SC under oath. I could be wrong, as its very technical and legal fineprint, but I think that appearing before the SC is very different from appearing before a Committee set up by the SC.

usually, commissions like that are still under oath; so you'd still be committing perjury

I think Dhoni should just give up his position in Srinivasan's company (India cements) to get rid of all the fuss. I am pretty sure he has made enough money even for life after retirement.
