Mark Boucher Academy was never in the game but that is more down to Steyn & Botha Academy's excellent performance than it was the former's poor effort. The bowlers were probably licking their lips when they saw the pitch today - the pitch was very sporting, to say the least. Seam benefited greatly throughout the day. These two teams were fairly evenly matched so it was tough to predict the outcome. That being said Steyn & Botha Academy proved to be the stronger in the end and snatched victory.Steyn & botha Academy will join Tzaneen Lions Academy in the CSA Youth Development programme final.

Today we got a chance to have a hot coffee and an exclusive interview with Steyn & Botha Cricket Academy Manager @CerealKiller . He welcomed us with open hands and was ready to thrash all the questions bowled in his way. I provide you the exclusive interview with a growing talented manager.

Q: We have almost come to the end of the season, What is your opinion about this series so far?

CerealKiller said:
I think these tournaments will do a lot for South African cricket. We've already seen quite a few unknown young players making a name for themselves. Kudos to the organizers for setting up this platform for the youngsters to show what they can do.

Q: Do you think you have a better chance of winning the upcoming Khaya Majola tournament ? Which team do you take as your rivalry.?

CerealKiller said:
After playing a lot of List A cricket it won't be easy switching to T20, but hopefully it will be a smooth procedure. We don't have any rivals. As i said before, winning is not the most important thing in this context. I'm excited to work with some of the best young talents in the country during the Khaya Majola tournament. I've heard a lot of good things on Makwetu, Papenfus and Van Thonder. Hopefully we'll get along very well. I'd like to wish good luck to all the other teams. And also, it's nice to have some of the players from my academy with me.

Q: Getting back to the current CSA series, Do you think your team as a chance against Mark Boucher academy in the 2nd Semi-finals?

CerealKiller said:
I think it's an even match. We didn't do well in the last match, but the lads have looked quite confident in training. Even if we lose, nobody will be disappointed. Winning is not what matters. What matters is giving a chance to the youngsters, and this tournament has done it perfectly. I'm sure a couple of our players will make it to the U19s. Keep an eye on the Plaatjies twins, Senzo Ntombezanda and Neville Pillay in the future.

Q: You say victory does not matter and giving chance to youngsters, spoken like a true manager. But seeing your record, till now you have utilized only 12 players out of 15, which is a strategy aiming towards winning and not giving youngsters a chance, which is totally opposite to your words. Doesn't seem to add, does it?

CerealKiller said:
Well, i'm not the one who takes the final decision on the line-up. I like to give my captain the final word. I wanted to utilise all players, but my team's captain vetoed the lineups. It's a way of preparing the captain for professional cricket.

Q: Well looking at your previous clash with Mark Boucher academy was a disaster, your batsmen failed miserably going down for 85. Do you still think your players will be able to bounce back against them? Your comment.

As i said, we had a bit of a break due to the Khaya Majola drafts, and all the guys are looking fresh and in good touch. The pitch in the last match was ridicolous, i have to say. I wouldn't be surprised if the groundsman was influenced by Mark Boucher Academy's officials. Let's hope we have more even conditions this time.

Well that is a series accusation put forward by @CerealKiller against Mark Boucher Cricket Academy manager @Jack Ryder , the result of the second semi-finals raises the suspicion that it might be true. Well this also brings in the question of what CSA Youth Academy management role is in this? are they blinded or choose to be blind? we will soon get to the depth of this in our next edition.

It is always said that there is just a small difference between confidence and over confidence, I can strongly say that @CerealKiller had the perfect amount of confidence on his players and their performance in the semi-finals proved it. Finally we like to thank @CerealKiller for his time and we like to congratulate SBC on their huge victory in the semi-finals and hope they do the same in the finals.

Batting was never our strong point.Our Bowlers were the main reason we were in the semi-finals.So when our bowlers failed we had to rely on something which has not yet given a good performance.I would say it might be our Batsmen best performance untill now.

This is ridiculous.@Cerealkiller is just talking garbage.He should have the guts to admit his team lost because of their bad playing instead of accusing others of foul play.I accept our todays defeat as a man that this defeat was because of our shortcomings and not because of someone influencing the groundsman to make a pitch supporting batsmen.I will take this issue of accusing me to the board and might even file a defamation case against @CerealKiller.
