Both sides at won their first games easily . But today it was a day full of nightmares on the pitch for Liverpool . Richard Deggen twisted his ankle during training and was replaced by Steve Finnan . But in game Chelsea totally dominated Liverpool in shots , passes and possession . Liverpool loked all over the pitch running behind the ball . It was a one sided game and at the end Chelsea won comfortably .

Chelsea scored the first goal wilthin three minutes . Obi Mikel's forward pass gave an easy chance for Drogba and he made no mistake and finished it passed Reina . Drogba was looking dangerous and soon he headed one more in . This Lampard assisted through and Drogba headed it in . Chelsea dominated the full half with their forwards runs and shots on target . And soon Florent Malouda got the third goal in . Lampard was again involved in the goal and Chelsea were 3-0 up at half time .

Peter Crouch and javier Mascherano were brought on for Dirk kuyt and Xabi Alonso . But it didn't stop Chelsea from dominating the second half . In the second half Liverpool's defence look well coordinated . Drogba had some very great chances which could have increase their lead but reina made some fine saves . Liverpool's best chance was missed by Peter crouch as his header from 7 yards was punch out by Cech for a corner . Just 2 minutes from time remaining Steven Gerrard one on one with Torres finished a brilliantly executed goal but it was just a consolation one as Chelsea won the game 3-1 .

COME ON YOU BLUES!!!!

Anyways I think you should play Gerrard as at LM or AM, and play Barry alongside Alonso. Mind you in the game (and in real life) Alonso >> Barry, so if you are planning to go with one defensive midfielder, than pick Alonso over Barry.

Thanks for the suggestion...Well I am looking for a right midfielder as Benayoun is crap...I am thinking of buying a striker also....Yeah i might just end up playing Gerrard on the right and Mascherano as DM

I think Pennant would do OK at right. But he is far far far far far....far from world class.

Pennant has already been sold to chelsea for 7.8m .... we I was thinking of getting David Silva in but he is costing a lot of money...

I was aware about the Pennant transfer, but was just mentioning that he would probably have done OK on the right had he stayed.

And Silva is one of the best players in the game and will cost you a lot of money. Playing as Valencia, I remember being offered ?60 million plus clauses by Barcelona for his services. I sold him and replaced him with Ben Arfa (?20 million), and got defenders Milan Stepanov and Antonio Barragan as well.

I am deciding to buy Mario Gomez or David Villa as a swap deal for either Kuyt or Crouch...and on the right hand side I will try to bring Bentley

This was a training ground match for Liverpool . Rafa Benitez had put on his second side which had Gerrard and Torres both in it . But the game turned out to be child's play for Liverpool as they completely dominated the game . Liverpool had 70% possession and 23 shot and 17 shots on target compared to just 3 of Linfield .

Liverpool started the scoring from the 7th minute Crocuh heading in Riise's cross . Soon Fernando Torres scoring an easy one on one goal assisted by Mascherano . Crouch made it three as he finished an another easy goal assisted by captain Gerrard . Torres made the score 4-0 at half time when he headed in Aurelio's cross .

Steven Gerrard , Fernando Torres and Yossi Benayoun were substituted off for Lucas , Ryan babel and Dirk Kuyt just before the start of the second half . After the restart Dirk Kuyt took the advantage of poor defending and scored his first of the day . Lucas too scored his first ever Liverpool goal and Liverpool were 6-0 . Ryan Babel ended the goal scoring party by scoring the seventh Liverpool goal from 22 yards beating keeper Wallwork . At the end Liverpool easily won at home and are almost qualified for Champions League .

Joaquin Signs for Liverpool

zu8f4.jpg

Spainish and Valencia right winger Joaquin has signed a 5 year contract with Merseyside club Liverpool for transfer fee of 5.3m + Fabio Aurellio . Jaoquin was delighted to sign for Liverpool and was happy to reunite with Manager Rafael Benitez . While Fabio Aurellio was happy tp return to Spain as he wasn't getting much first team action at Liverpool . Jaoquin was a surprised signing by Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez and this may end his search for a right midfielder . Joaquin adds a lot of attacking option in the side also and lets hope he performs well for his new club .

Brilliant signing and will solve your right winger problems for sure!!!

Although I think Joaquin was still at Betis when Rafa was Valencia manager.

Liverpool completed dominated the game but at the end it was a disappointing result for them as they were unable to find the back of the net . Sunderland keeper Craig Gordon was in his fine form as he saved 7 Liverpool shots which were on target . Liverpool dominated the possession and had a lot of shots but they were completely unlucky .

Liverpool were on the back foot at the start of the first half as Sunderland striker Kenywene Jones test Riena just after 4mins . But soon Liverpool find their game and attack . The new signing Joaquin was having some great skills with the ball and also created a lot of chances which were missed by Torres and Kuyt . Best chance of the first half to Liverpool was to Joaquin as his freekick hit the bar and then Kuyt rebound when over the bar .

In the second half Javier Mascherano was on for Xabi Alonso . Steven Gerrad , Kuyt , Torres , Barry and Skrtel produced some brilliant saves from Goardon to keep Sunderland in the match . In the second half Sunderland had just one chance to Liam Miller which he missed it by hitting it over the bar . Liverpool dominated the attack but they were denied by some heroics by Godron . The referee blew his whistle to end the match and the Liverpool fans looked unhappy after 2 consecutive poor results in the league .
