This was Luis Philipe Scolari's first match in charge of the Reds and he decided to put a week lineup against Linfield . As expected it was another easy but a huge win for the Liverpool . They just completely dominated the 2 halves . They had 75% possession , 23 shots compared to just 4 of Linfield . Riena hardly had to make a save . Liverpool had easily qualified for the Champions League .

Liverpool started the first half dominating with their passes and kept the possession . Soon Lucas scored an header from Ryan Babel's free kick . 2 minutes Crouch scored from an Benayoun corner and Liverpool went 2-0 up . Just before the end of the first half Dirk Kuyt finished an one on one and Liverpool were 3-0 up at half time .

Scolari brought Torres on in the second half . Torres scored not once but twice in 10 minutes . Both the goals were high quality from Torres . 7 minutes later Dirk Kuyt missed a penalty but there were no worries for Liverpool as Dirk Kuyt later scored twice and then Fernando Torres wrap the game up as he completed his hatrick . Liverpool had beaten Linfield 15-0 on aggregate which was now a record set by the club .

UEFA Champions League Draw​

In was the group draw of the Champions League . Liverpool were drawn in one of the toughest groups containing Juventus , Sporting and Slavia Prague . While Arsenal got AC Milan , Fenerbache and Villarreal CF . Liverpool's arch rivals Manchester United were drawn with FC Porto , Lyon and Bucharest and the last English club Chelsea were drawn with Roma , Stuttgart and Bordeaux . SO lets hope that Liverpool progress through the group and quailfy for the next rounds of the Champions League .

This was Luis Philipe Scolari's first league match in charge of the Reds . He put on the same lineup as rafa had put in his last game against Wigan . All experts thought this match would be a goal less draw but it surprised completely as this one turned out be a 6 goal thriller match . But at the end Liverpool won easily 5-1 . Liverpool completely dominated the possession and had 15 shots on target compared to 2 of Manchester United .

Liverpool began the first half on a hig when John Arne Riise scored through a 23 yards freekick . Liverpool fans were delighted but 2 minutes later Ryan Giggs finished an easy goal and was assisted by Rooney . Man Utd were back . But minutes later Steven Gerrard scored from a great volley and Liverpool were back on the lead . Liverpool dominated the half and made Van Der Sar do a lot of saving . 2 minutes before half time Steven Gerrard through an long range effort beating Van Der Sar and Liverpool were 3-1 up at Half time .

Scolari brought Mascherano inplace of Alonso to strengthen the defence . But Liverpool scored again this time the duo of Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres took part and easy finish at the end for Torres . It was all over for Manchester United now . It became worse for United when John O'Shea had to be stretched off due to an ankle injury . But it was not over for Liverpool as Gerrard's through pass which gave Torres acres of space and an easy finish pass Van Der Sar made 5 for Liverpool . The Liverpool fans were delighted when the final whistle was blown by the referee and the United fan were completely shocked by this performance .
