Its mostly the batsmen to blame, The bowlers bowled brilliantly and Afridi did fine captaincy in terms of bowling changes, but there are some problems with selection like inducting Anwar Ali prefering over Wahab Riaz and Muhammad Nawaz, and changing your batting order suddenly instead of going with the same line-up which they had against UAE.
Looks like I am repeating it for the millionth time that Pakistan's debacle is all because of making decisions in hurry in the selection process and doing immense experimentations with the final line-up and batting order. You got to give your players confidence and back them.
More importantly, Pakistani public is very much influenced with Media (Who has their own agendas), There is a full-fledge campaign going on in the Media to displace Shahid Afridi from the team and as a captain, Lots of ex-players don't like him for their own personal reasons and they are becoming victim of the Media hype. Media of subcontinent particularly sells sensation and they have their own monetary benefits and agendas. We the nation need to have control on over emotions. Now there is a debate going on that Shoaib Malik or Sarfraz can captain the side in the World Cup... lol.... This is awfully funny.... One can either laugh or cry in these kinds of stupid and hasty decisions....
As far as my suggestion goes for World T20, Just back your team, do some minor tweaks in the World T20 squad and carry on with your team and back it. The most responsibility lies towards PCB who is giving foolish statements on captaincy put all blame on the players with tweets. How un-professional they can be.... Najam Sethi tweeted yesterday that a hard ACTION should be taken whoever is responsible......
Is this criminal case going on? Come-on, Learn from other teams. Indian team looses under captaincy of Dhoni many a times, They have lost tournaments, matches over all those years but they never changed their captain, nor they did drastic changes in the squad. You got to be consistent and give enough confidence.
I would be regretfully saying that yesterday night after the match, All Pakistani News channels were filled with cricketing talk shows inviting Ex-Pakistani Players, and literally all were bashing the coach and the captain bitterly at this stage when World Cup is so near, while an Indian Ex-Player Ajay Jadeja on PTV Sports looked to me most sensible in his views. He said that this is your team and you have to back these guys and don't do drastic changes. His views were very constructive while players like Javed Miandad were very emotional.
Its a pity, There should be a difference of emotions between general public and a person who knows Cricket. Ex-players are most interested in their turns as coaches or role in the board rather than sincere with the Pakistan Cricket. Thats majority not everyone is included ofcourse
