You missed Gautham Gambhir. He has experience, left-hand batsman - perfect replacement to Dhawan, scored some runs in domestic circuit and is a good hitter of the ball.

I pray that Dhawan should get a serious injury before WT20 and should be replaced by Gautham.

Gambhir hasn't performed well in Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy. But his experience in the top order will be helpful if he is selected which is highly unlikely as if Dhawan is injured, Rahane will come in.

But i feel its good that he didn't selected because Dhoni never gonna choose him over dhawan.

Surely the speedgun is broken? The ball on which Pandya took wicket was clocked at 145kmph! Whoa! I have always maintained Pandya is a bowler first and I know he can bowl in high 130s (140-141 max), to see him breaking the 90mph barrier was astounding. Coming to Bhuvi, despite the fact that he bowled with pace and all, he still needs to play some more matches before he is considered as a new ball bowler for long period. At the moment, Shami is a much better bet once fit.

How would I know what's dhawan doing? Should ask MSD and selectors. Rohit Sharma got many chances and it paid off, I think they are trying out the same thing for Dhawan.

Regarding Dhawan: It is okay to reserve one opening spot for a player who is an impact player - he will fail 7-8 times out of time, but the other 2-3 times his knocks will win games. Which is why we tolerated Sehwag for so long. He would make us pull out our hair in frustration on most days, but then he would fire and we were almost guaranteed a win

The reason why Dhawan is not Sehwag though is that when Dhawan fails, he fails abysmally. Sehwag never wasted deliveries or looked clueless against quality bowling. He would come in, and then hit out or get out. Dhawan on the other hand wastes a lot of deliveries and looks absolutely clueless on certain days. Just puts unneeded pressure on the scoreboard and his batting partners. And then he either ends up scoring a big 100 or perishes with horrible scores after having played a million dot balls.

If we are investing in Dhawan as the swashbuckling opener, he needs to do what Sehwag did - go out and start smashing everything from ball one - bowler and pitch be damned. Because we already have Rohit at the top who uses up a lot of deliveries to get settled in. Cant have another one who does the same thing, but has half the conversion rate of Rohit.

Selectors don't have a bit of sense. It is the WT20 and not a series against Zimbabwe or Ireland. He had great opportunity to work on his weaknesses and get back to form in this Asia Cup. But he has ruined it. Only 3 games left for WT20 (Asia Cup Final & Two warm-up games) Hope he gets to his form. If not, then he might end up with 2 years (or longer) rest from international cricket just like Yuvi, after that WT20 Final in 2014.

MSD should make that change first of all. And I think if he doesn't perform well, he will be dropped after minimum of 2 matches. And those 2 matches will be crucial as it would be versus NZ and Pak.

Just because they are legends doesn't mean they should be assured a place in the playing XI

Yuvraj got a chance because he performed in the domestic circuits. The others barely did anything after being dropped (IPL doesn't really count)
