Mistake buying console version, lesson learned

Thankfully there is still Ashes 09 and Cricket 07 to give an authentic cricket experience

We're on Page 47 in one thread with a group of fans trying to get an authentic experience out of this one.

and your point is that you can count or was there something else? :)

I think his point, Captain Grumpy, is that we have a much better chance getting a good game from you (where community is embraced and iteration is ongoing) than previous ones that were abandoned by their publishers almost instantly...

I think you misread a compliment as an insult. :)

People bought the console versions of Don Bradman expecting a patch 3, and more specifically for me, a co-op mode. To still ask people to be patient more than a year later with still no patch 3 when they're pointing out genuine grievances is crazy .

To the OP, I share your sentiments. We've well and truly got the short end of the stick.

the PC patches haven't all been stable... the whole point of the patches being on PC is so all that is weeded out and you get a proper stable patch. the improvements on PC so far have transformed the game: co-op, increased online stability, better AI batting, running and field selection as well as other bug fixes - and it all been play tested to destruction by real gamers. the deal always was PC would get it earlier but live with the issues (and on pc you could opt in to beta & have the updates even earlier, risking more issues); console would get it later but more stable. console also got the game earlier as well as patches before PC was even released.

you are basically getting a stable DBC15- for the number and quality of changes could easily justify a next version release - for free: this is the rawest deal anyone's got since those two victoria's secret models told me i could sleep with them but i wasn't allowed to film it. stitched me right up, they did.

i started that thread and I've got an infinitely more authentic experience from this game than any other. and i think i've nixed the tailender issue, too.

skills are overpowered by about a third, that's really the secret.

Based on his previous comments that he plays neither version I'm not so sure... however if it was a compliment then I certainly apologise and accept the title "Captain Grumpy" most graciously.

Patch 1.5+ for the PC does nothing to address the AI batting situation and the lack of difference between a conservative tailender and a brute opener.. So don't fear, the PC world are not far ahead in that regard. I purchased both console and Steam version, and play neither.

Sad to see. For all the efforts of cricket devs over the years, it's shocking that not a single cricket game has got the AI pacing in a shorter format done properly. You can get away with it in tests where there is no urgency in scoring, but I simply don't have time to play long test matches anymore.

Anyway Blockerdave claims improvements have been made to the AI batting - to what extent is this really true? I don't have the patience to go through the 47 page thread.

So you decide to directly address the comment with the same general sentiment as your own, and with a disregard for the counterpoints other people have raised?

Hardly worth having the conversation in the first place.

Maybe OP can buy a PC version if he/she thinks that's the better deal and way to go. PC version's not that expensive either and if you are a cricket gaming fan it would further support the devs (Big Ant) who are clearly backing their product. Lots of folks have already purchased console and PC versions and if you are such a big cricket gaming fan who's been waiting for a year for the patch, the decision is a no-brainer to me.

and it's Aud$30 at the moment - first time we have ever discounted a product - that's less than 15 pound.

If I'd a decent enough PC would've surely gotten the PC version to go with the PS3 one and the Table Top game. But yeah if someone wants the patches so much it's a small price to pay for a great product.

TableTop is less than 2.50 pounds - you can't catch trains in London may as well stay home and play :)
