New Zealand tour of England - May/June 2015

James Taylor has been dropped; what a pisstake.
WHAT?! This is an absolute Joke.

Just turned on and we've lost Roy. Why are we starting unproven players like Roy yet not finding a place for Taylor?

If this is not an injury then the best thing Taylor can do is to immigrate to another cricket nation and try his luck there, it would be hard but at least there is a chance to play international cricket he is wasted here.

Very surprised Hales made it into the team he must of brought his PE kit this week.

the one day I think "nah England are playing one day cricket I won't bother, it'll be rubbish", that happens

butler was fantastic if he is managed well he should be top player for eng for sometime.

shows while a good coach cant make miracles, a bad coach could be disaster. Seems to be quite a turn around since mores has gone, no offence to the man but both his stints seems to have coincided with the lowest forms of ENG, while this eng team may not become world beaters tommorow they see to play a lot better atleast a few of them.

ok guys now other teams need to push to 500 we cant have eng catching up :p

emmm

what on earth has happened
@Biggs boys just got their ass handed too 'em on a plate, that's what :p

That partnership between Buttler and Rashid was incredible. And then Plunkett at the end with the those two 6's were the icing on the cake!

Great innings. Still shocked at Taylor not playing. Not sure what Billings and Roy have that he doesn't.[DOUBLEPOST=1433872587][/DOUBLEPOST]
Wait Finn is playing

Might just put £5 on New Zealand

Don't quit your day job just yet

Root and Buttler are such good players. We're lucky to have them.

I'm a little surprised Billings played ahead of Taylor. Although, if they're trying to get people like Morgan and Buttler up the order than I think Billings is a good option at 7. He's a proven finisher.

Alex Hales also did a great job today after loosing Roy first ball. Top marks to Rashid as well, hope he doesn't get too battered when he bowls! I know nothing about Sam Billings, but I assume he's only proven at County level? Not sure if he's paid for the Lions.

On a side note David Willey has 145 more runs than Billings in county cricket this season.

I think they've made some good decisions, personally. I can't see Roy making it at this level, but for me he's just keeping the spot warm for Ali (who also brings that 6th bowling option). Good to see Rashid getting a game. I'm not convinced by him for Test cricket, but he's played well enough the last couple of years to get a good run in this form of the game.

Billings playing is also a good decision, although he's just been out of form for the start of the season (hopefully he finds some over this series), plus it gets Buttler up the order. It is harsh to leave Taylor out, but I can understand it, because they had to get Stokes in the team somewhere.

I never understood why Wood is in the squad though. He should be resting or playing the odd 4 Day game in preparation for the Ashes.

Oh, and on Buttler, I think we'll all soon realise that he's probably one of the most talented batsmen that we've ever produced.

Cmon Rashid and Finn! I'm genuinely so proud of the guys (I don't know them personally lol) but I've been championing Finn for years and it's good to see his mojo back after being messed around by the often inept ECB. And Rashid is someone who I believe should have been part of the England WC squad at the very least. I hope Rashid is given an extended run, Ali makes a come back and Finn stays fit and focused. They are 3 of the best "young" players in England.
