Australia has made an awesome start to the match. Brett Lee has especially come out firing by already claiming 5 wickets in this one sided battle. The Kiwis really need to lift in this last session?
It seems that the Kiwis have no answer to Brett Lee, who has clean ripped Daniel Vettori to claim his 6th wicket. Lee beat Vettori for pace with a classical inswinger that shattered the spinners off stump. Australia will be very happy with the early wicket?
Shane Warne has picked up a confidence boosting wicket. The master couldn?t obviously stand the sight of Lee taking so many wickets and virtually brought himself on to claim the wicket of Franklin. The tailender was caught at mid off trying to loft a cover drive after being deceived by a Warne slower ball?
Brendan McCullum has scored a vital 50 as his team reached the 300 mark in the first innings. McCullum hasn?t tried to attack every bowler; he has just nudged and prodded the ball around then punished the bad balls. The Kiwi wicket keeper has been in great form in this series but has always faltered in the 40?s. Maybe today he will continue on with his innings?
After a frustrating innings for Australia Kyle Mills has finally been caught behind of Brett lee, who now has 7 wickets. Mills was drawn forward into a cover drive and edged straight to Adam Gilchrist. The Kiwis are now near 350 and have made a great score after being 4/104 at one stage?
Some great batting from the Kiwi lower order has given them a good total to defend. The last wicket will probably fall soon so the Australians must turn their attention to batting and chasing the score...
Shane Warne has taken his second wicket of the match to finish off the innings with the help of his captain. Warne drew Martin forward into a defensive shot that Martin spooned up into the air. Ponting dived from his position at silly mid off and took a one handed beauty to end the Kiwi innings?
Justin Langer and Phil Jaques have absolutely ripped apart the Kiwis bowling attack. The Australians are 0/99 of just 15 overs. They are currently going along at 6.6 runs per over. Langer has just reached his 50 which has included a huge 6 over mid wicket. Phil Jaques is not far behind from reaching his 50. The Kiwis must find an answer to somehow stop this incredibly partnership?
