With Akhtar, Asif and possibly Rana back in the ODI's Pakistan are easily the favourites for the ODI's. They certainly are a formidable lineup but England can cause a surprise. I hope England wins 3-2 but I expect it to be 4-1 Pakistan.

Before that of course is the test match at Lord's. Expect England to wrap up this series 3-0 if Pakistan don't bring back Asif and Akhtar despite both being not 100%. I expect the two not to play though as Pak can not win the series. Monty brilliant again :D He is easily my most favourite and enjoyable player to watch now.

The thing with England and ODI's is that they can win if one of a few players start fireign on all cylinders. The problem is they rarely do and they either go all out or not at all. Other teams seem to have a middle stage unlike us.

Vettori ? Monty is miles ahead of Vettori...

and Im sure Pakistan wont let u guys win the ODI series after test series loss :)
a century or 2 from Afridi would make me really happy!

Monty is a great spinner but he isn't as good as Vettori yet. Vettori is a very fine spinner, and I belive he is the best left-armer in the world. You can't really compare the two because Vettori has played miles more Tests.

Infact the Ashes should tell. Vettori does well against Australia, we will see how Monty goes. I am looking forward to it. Seeing him bowl and Warne bowl. The wickets in Australia probably won't offer Monty as much assistance as he has gotten so far.

And all australian wickets are as unhelpful as headingley?

I expected more from Taufeeq Umar, .
Imran farhat, Salman Butt, just play them even if they don't do well. And later they'll get better.

Agreed. Any spinner who out-performs Warne on any pitch deserves recognition as a very fine bowler. I hope he takes a lot of wickets and doesn't take teh crowd banter from the Aussies to heart. Let's not forget though, his place isn't certain as Fletcher for some ridiculous reason, is still considering playing Giles.

Apparantly Sajid Mahmood was getting abuse from the Pakistani fans, who were accusing him of betraying his heritage, calling him a traitor. He's playing for the country of his birth, and yet he's a traitor? Idiots.

Yeah, I read that in the papers this morning. It was in 4 of them so i'd imagine it's true as well. I agree with you, those who booed him are complete idiots who give all Pakistan fans a bad reputation. Full credit to Saj though, he ignored the abuse and bowled his best ever spell for England.

Well done Saj.
I read even his own Father had mixed support for England and he still bowled well after all that pressure

To think, all it did for Stuart MacGill was keep him out of the side.

You say that like it's a bad thing. They've got a dual nationality in theory, it's good that they support both countries. I bet Mahmood supports Pakistan when they're not playing England.

they called him a reject to mean as he wasn't good enough to play for pakistan, something like that.

I bet he does, but really if your son is playing for England you need to support England fully even if it is Pakistan.

Agreed. This is a bit off-topic, but Wayne Rooney's dad is an Everton fan, but he still wants Man Utd to win every game so his son can do well.

Glenn Chapple took 4 wickets for Lancashire in the Roses match. Fletch take note.

More bad news for Pakistan; Mohammed Asif has returned home and won't play in the 4th Test. I highly doubt that Shaoib will play either.

Why can't he want his son to do well, but Pakistan to do well also? It's not as simple as black and white. If you supported one team all your life, you couldn't just forget about it as your son plays for another team.

I'd continue to support my team but if my son played in a team against it I'd always support my son. Supporting your family is much more important than you're nationality or favorite team. Atleast to me anyway.
