Finally Pakistan have given up on the useless Sami. Shame for England though, I would have loved him to pay in the final Test.

It's very interesting, what with Pace Bowling being glorified everywhere. In Sami, there's a guy who bowls 90 mph per hour, yet he has disappointed so much.
Accuracy it seems is very important for a pace bowler. Without consistent accuracy, pace seems to be ineffective.

but you have to say that sami has not been up with pace that he has done before. pace does matter because the pace bowler will rough the batsman and the spinner or line and length bowler will do the rest. is mohammed asif playing today whats the latest news.

Your right, Matthew Hoggard has 200+ wickets and he's never ever had express pace.

I think Asif is playing, but they haven't announced the side yet. Mohammed Sami should be roughing up the batsmen, but for some reason, Inzamam insisted that he tried to go against his natural game and bowl line and length. In the few times that he bowled with hostility, he gave a few English batsmen problems.

mohammed asif is a good player, will be good to see how englands players face up against him. the only problem he may have is well he has is lack of match practice

Oh my God, Pakistan have made a lot of mistakes in this series, but winning the toss and bowling first at the Oval is perhaps the worst. Let's see how good this Asif is then.

asif is real good player truthfully but the lack of match practice might be a big thing

Lacking in match fitness will take it out of him, he hasn't bowled competitivley since July if Sky are telling the truth. Having to bowl first at the Oval won't help him either.

i think he can do it with the new ball and throughtout the game

here are his test stats

Bowling averages
class mat balls runs wkts bbi bbm ave econ sr 4 5 10
Tests 5 943 500 25 6/44 11/71 20.00 3.18 37.72 2 2 1

Edit: Those stats are from Cricinfo

If I remember it right, Asif played three matches before playing this match.

where in pakistan

rain already :-(

First two balls from Cricinfo

0.2 Mohammad Asif to Trescothick, no run, brilliant line mere inches away from Trescothick?s offstump who shoulders arms
0.1 Mohammad Asif to Trescothick, no run, outside his offstump and Trescothick just pulls inside the line, passing the outside edge and through to the wicketkeeper. Excellent start

Promising i know just wo balls but promising, is anyone watching if yes whats weather saying

Almost every fast bowler starts with a probing line and length like that. Tres is a shaky starter anyway. I'll be happy to see how see how he bowls at the latter stages of this match.

Clearing up, play resumes again in 20 minutes. I wouldn't be too optimistic, it'll be like this throughout the Test match. A draw is the most likely outcome here.

That's why you bat first at The Oval, Pakistan have a good record here.

What England don't want as being said in the com box is to be on and off all day.

zub, the weather is about 2 months too early for this time of year. We had a scorching July (Hotter than Rio, and many other big cities) and a cold August.

Anything less than 400 is a failure by England.

Bad. They will be on and off all day.

2 balls were bowled. There was a quick shower but it looks fine now.

As usual though, there will be about 15 minutes of ****ing around before they go back on.
