The same thing doesn't stop people harping on about Monty being the best left arm spinner.

It's different to an extent.

Monty probably is the best SLA bowler in the world at the moment.

But McGrath is a special bowler one of the best of all time.

The comparisons are different.

Spot on, mate. Throw in a few correct decisions by the umpires and this series would've been a lot more exciting for everyone.

If's and buts will break your bones :p

Ok, well done Pakistan probably the second day of the series where it's been all Pakistan (After the Yousuf and Khan partnership day).

Asif and Gul bowled very well Gul with the tail inparticular.

And before some of you jump the gun and think I'm saying Asif is a poor bowler I'm not, he's bowled very well so far.

1 criticism though.

Bowled a few too many short balls to Strauss and Cook. Both players you should bowl full and straight too. Apart from that he did well.

Shahid Nazir has done well too, all 3 bowlers are almost adapted to english conditions unlike someone like Sami.

England might well not have bothered turning up yesterday. But we do come back strongly after terrible performances the day before.

Dropping Yousuf twice isn't clever!

Hoggard showed some signs later on of what he can do.

*Applauds Pakistan*

Wouldn't quite say is the best SLA bowler in the world at the moment. I would have Vetorri ahead of Monty but if Monty does well in this match and in the upcoming series, he may quite possibly be the best SLA bowler.

And why'd you say that?? If that's the case than I have a feeling that Monty is in for a good match. :D

Well at the moment I dont see too many SLA bowlers operating, so maybe Monty is indeed the best.

Fact of the matter is, as long as he is picking wickets, I'm happy.

well i think England have missed their chance to get back into the match, when they dropped Mohammad Yousuf (twice) last night.

Can't help but by disappointed to the point of being anoyed at the disgraceful bowling display.

You have to question what Englands Bowling Coach Kevin Shine is doing ? Either he is advising the bowlers incorrectly OR they are not following orders.

Every can see that bowling short and wide is a school-boy error..why can't the players see this?

Also the field positions. I have een all the tests V Pakistan, almost all their batsmen score 90% of their runs square of the wicke. Why remove mod on/off and give more protection in the areas where the batsmen are scoring ?????

rant over

Very good innings by Farhat with some good attacking shots against some mediocre bowling at some stages, now England have 2 newish batsman in. Cricinfo says thunderstorms coming :D.

Sami isn't adapt to any conditions! :D

Finally we managed to take a catch getting rid of Farhat.

It's a fair point and a good question. Harmison himself knows how much more lethal he is when he bowls fuller, but still tries to bang it in!

haha how dare people call Farhat crap, haha haha LMAO FARHAT RULES! THATS IT!

I believe the standard of England's bowlers has declined since Troy Cooley left to coach Australia's bowlers. Today he has been reported to say that Australia have the better attack going into the Ashes, Cooley must have left his mark.

The only success of Kevin Shine's spell at the moment has been Monty Panesar, who was rattled to see Imran Farhat smash a six off his first ball, he's been too used to having the wool over the batsmen, he's got to learn to fight back from being targeted in Australia this winter.

I think Simon Jones would be suitable for this situation, he's an accurate, fast bowler who leads by example.

No one called him crap, we called him average, and a somewhat flukey and yet good innings of 91 isn't going to change my opinion.

I can't sense England pulling this game back to be honest, and as Rob Smyth of the Guardian OBO once said, "Is it cowardly to pray for rain?"

The Guardian said:
At the risk of stating the bleeding obvious, England will only flourish with a five-bowler strategy if Flintoff is fully fit," says Jim Adamson. "Without him, either the bowling or batting is going have to be slightly underpowered. Unless of course we can add 10mph to Collingwood's bowling speed. Could we arrange for him to have bionic implants or be bitten by a radioactive spider?

I've give up on Sky's boringness, Rob Smyth and his colleagues over at the Guardian are so much funnier. Collingwood with an extra 10mph isn't a bad idea.

Oh for goodness sake will you calm down. He's a average batsman who occasionally does well, hence him averaging 33 in test cricket from 21 matches.

How's Harmison bowling, I'm not really taking much notice of the radio at the moment. As I say that, he's hit for 4 after bowling short and wide and now bowls one down the legside...

So should I say crap english bowling made romi get to 91 :D? MR JJ

He's was bowling unusually well and tight until that wide long hop came along.

Why don't you read teh OBO on The Guardian's website Stevie? It's a lot less depressing than watching/listening.

Without sounding bitter, that's pretty much right.

Look how bad he was at OT when the bowlers performed well.
