Didnt think they did tickets for the 5th day of test matches ?
That was a new one on me too, but he does have tickets

In that article it's saying the match is abandoned. That's what most articles I'm reading have said. Although seems like Pakistan have forfeited the match.

so thats the 2nd straight test Hair has won...i mean England has won ;) well done

I fail to see how Hair won the Headingley Test. Care to enlighten me?

Quite a few of you have ignorant views.

I acreed totally with the views and comments of the umpires. They are spot on. I don't blame Pakistan one bit. They have been called cheaters and this will not be forgotten in a hurry. They wern't just going to come back out all fine and dandy.

I think Hair has made a huge mistake here and I hope there are serious repracussions.

Lets start from the beginning. He noticed marks on the ball. He didn't even witness any ball tampering and so he just automatically presumes the scratched area came from something scratching the ball. Could it have happened by hitting a piece or concrete? With the wet around the ball was bound to be softer.

I am not saying they didn't tamper with the ball, but sky couldn't find any proof of it from their 26 cameras and they get pretty much everything. As David Lloyd said, It must have happened between 14 past and half past. 15 minute time gap. Not a big amount of time. So it wouldn't be hard to look for. The fact of the matter is, a professional umpire accused the Pakistan team without seeing anything for cheating and for that he should be punished.

International teams are representing their country and these guys have pride and being called cheaters when they quite possibly did nothing top cheat was damaging for their team and country.

Next thing they start to come out after the umpires are leaving the field so they go back in.

Next thing they stay in longer. The game cannot be forfiet as the umpires have not talked to both sides. Hair and Doctrove never spoke to the Pakistan team during the break obviously or else Pakistan wouldn;'t have bothered walking back out. So the game cannot be forfiet.

Then Pakistan took the field and an international umpire. An official of the game refused to take the field because as far as he was concerened he had called the game off without talking to the match referee or anybody about it. Doctrove cannot be blamed for this, he had to back his fellow senior umpire.

Hair is one of the worst umpires there are out there. he has been part of many contrivercies of course the Murili thing. On top of that he makes bad decisions and the Pakistan team and other sides suspect him of being biased.

Some of you English supporters comments disgust me. How can you be satisfied by England winning by forfiet.

This is a shambles and really, its all the umpires fault. If Hair is not punished with suspension or something I will be disgusted.

I see this as abandoned then, I'll scratch out the latter bit ;)

Weird outcome to say the least as Pakistan basically had the match won if the weather was good tomorrow.

England had no chance at winning the game. They were outplayed and Pakistan can at least know that they woud have won if the umpires had of been competant.

Because a win is a win and it increases our rating points which helps us on our pursuit to be number 1 in the world. Yes it's shallow to accept a victory which has come in thsi manner, but like I said, a win is a win.

Maybe if they had settled this dispute after the game instead of behaving so childishly they would have won.

The more interviews and stuff I hear about this the more it disgusts me that Hair made a statement that the ball was deliberatly scuffled. That is a lie. Hair didn't see anything.

Childish. Pakistan team has been labeled as cheats. If they had of gone on they would have just been confessing to doing it. It is disgusting for a match umpire for labeling a side as cheating without any proff. That is absolutly disgusting.

Listen to the interview: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/england/5268886.stm

The whole thing was handled wrong by the umpires.

remember when mike gatting protested to shakoor rana, bigots like agnew didnt say gatting should have waited until the end of the game and uphold the spirit of the game. HYPOCRITES

andrew miller from cricinfo: "The issue would seem to boil down to evidence. Has Darrell Hair got any proof that the Pakistanis were tampering with the ball? Did he see a specific player scratch at the seam, or did he take a look at a ball that is 64 overs old and draw his own conclusions? As Ian Botham has just said on Sky Sports, it's a matter of honour to the Pakistanis. If Hair has no proof, then they are well within their rights to take this stance."
