Rumours seem to be enough for Darrell Hair to go by..........andrew_nixon said:Let's deal in facts and not rumour shall we?
scorpion_rulezz said:Following are the major incidents against Asians which he has been involved
* Hair no-balls Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan for throwing on seven occasions during the Boxing Day test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in December 1995. Skipper Arjuna Ranatunga led his players off the field in protest only to return and bowl Muralitharan from the other end where umpire Steve Dunne was officiating.
* Hair describes Muralitharan's action as 'diabolical' in his 1998 autobiography, a charge which prompts the Sri Lankan board to ask the International Cricket Council to charge him with bringing the game into disrepute. He is stood down from a tri-nations series involving England, Australia and Sri Lanka and accuses Sri Lankan Board president Thilange Sumathipala of a 'smear campaign'.
* Adjudges Inzamam-ul-Haq run out by Steve Harmison in the second test against England in Faisalabad when the Pakistan captain seemed to be trying to evade the bowler's throw in Nov. last year.
* Hair and fellow umpire Billy Doctrove rule Pakistan bowlers have tampered with the ball in the fourth test against England at the Oval in August 2006. The umpires impose a five-run penalty for the infringement and decide the match is forfeited when Pakistan's players fail to return to the field in protest at the decision.
We didnt let the dignity of match to be affected at the time of incident. We let the match carried on until tea. We only lodged protest then as a collective decision not to take the field. Mr. Hair again took a hardened stance considering it as forfeiture. And along with Mr. Doctrove decided not to take the field when Pakistan team were convinced by ECB to do so.
All in all, we lodged the protest and were ready to play and so were the english team but the umpires were not up for it and the match referee could have replaced the umpires by the two reserve umpires available, had the ICC been not biased
this is not just about racism its about Pakistan's pride, how dare anyone can say they are cheaters without any proven evidence :evertonfan said:Can we drop the racism thing now please? You've already been told that the matter has been dealt with, and many of the links provided in this thread have already covered your points.
