I personally think it is ridiculous that bowlers get fined for something like that. I remember Akhtar got fined something like half of his match fee for showing Langer the pavillion. I've never seen the Jones one.

Basically, since Jones threw the ball back at Hayden's shoulder in an ODI, they haven't been the best of friends since. He bowled a good over at him in the second innings at Edgebaston and if I remember rightly, they were exchanging views throughout the over. He was then hit for a crunching off-drive, and Hayden seemed to be winning the battle, but the next ball Jones unleashed a pearler of an out-swinger which Hayden could only hard edge to Trescothick at slip who took a great diving catch. Jones then proceded in shouting and pointing Hayden back to the pavillion. He was fined half of his match fee I think.

I don't think players should be fined at all for doing that, I think it's what makes the sport a good contest, but if your going to punish one bowler for doing it, you have to punish another.

Here's some pictures of it;

Bottom line; Simon Jones = Legend.

I don't think he's in any sort of 'form slump'. As recently as the fourth test he smashed 96 and 135 in the third test. He either comes off or he doesn't, I think it really is as simple as that with KP.

Spot on. There isn't such thing as form with KP, he either scores big or he doesn't. No matter how many low scores he gets, we all know that a hundred is lurking around the corner. As i've mentioned earlier, KP will have the last laugh against Asif, surely that finger wagging will get him riled up. Asif's a good bowler, but I don't like his attitude. There's a difference between bravado, confidence and arrogance, and at the moment, he's the latter.

Darren Gough has been ruled out for the rest of the series. Graham Onions has took his place.

I hope Onions does well, but I can already see all of the puns that cricinfo will be using;

"Onions sliced away for 4 more"

"Oh that delivery by Onions made my eyes water"

"Onions chops it onto his stumps"

I'll stop now. I think Jimmy should have been called up anyway; A 70% fit Jimmy Anderson is good enough for me, although I don't want to prolong his injury.

I think another line has to go under that.

Bottom Line: Simon Jones = Cripple

You quoted every single word of my post just to post that?

He'll be back with a vengeance, just you wait.

Staying on topic though, I really am struggling to see how England are going to win a match in thsi series, and I think only the rain can give us some respectability.

If England can see off the new ball, then they have a chance. But if they keep losing 3-4 wickets in the first 15 overs, you can't expect the rest to put up a large total.

Well i've known graham for 12yrs.. really happy for him, he's a very talented athelete. He's in the style of Jimmy Anderson, a bit quicker than he looks, definately swings the ball.

going to be a bit sureal watching him on TV if he gets a game..

I will, it's certainly a rapid rise to fame..only seems like yesterday he was predominently a Badminton player, now less than 2yrs later he's picked for England cricket team..

lol, that actually made me laugh.

well Graham isn't really a one-day bowler..

He's an attacking swing bowler. Will go for runs, but will get wickets..

Why don't England call up good players?

Because our selectors our extras from 'The Ringer'.

In other words, they have no perception of good players in One-Day cricket.
