Hmm, I like Onions and I do mean the player. I saw him against Glamorgan and he was superb, if he can do that again he'll be a good addition. I just hope he keeps up the aggresion he showed then. We need somebody to give Khan, Yousef and Inzi a bit of abuse.

Just hope this is the end for Gough.

Gough's ODI Career. 1994-2004 RIP.

his 1-day stats aren't great..but he doesn't play much for Durham in that competition.

His 4-day stats are pretty good this season..

It's a another case of Fletcher "grooming" a young player for test cricket by playing him in the ODI's.

Even though I'm skeptical and critical of his call up, if you speak to him Eddie wish him luck. Should he play.

Gough is out for 6 weeks. So we have 6-7 ODIs before he can play again.

Rose Bowl tomorrow.

Will offer something for the bowlers. I'd like to see a 5 man attack which includes both Yardy and JD, yes Pakistan play spin well but spinners are coming to the fore in ODI cricket.

Seamers consist of Lewis, Broad and Onions.

Yardy in for Clarke (batted well but he isn't a good enough bowler) and Onions in for the crocked Gough.

looks like pakistan are gonna peel the onions next 3 games..a bad joke or just not funny?

aslong as he bowls on target i'll be happy,
so far there hasnt been a repeat of sri lanka and maybe thats cos afridi has been kept away from fielding restrictions

Afridi needs to be kept down the order. He can provide those quick runs that can prove very useful. Even if he doesn't fire, he's a damn good spinner for ODIs.

Why do England persist with these "spare parts" players, who are just simply not good enough for international cricket. They will always be handy players at domestic level, btu when you get at this level, they're not good. Better off playing a true bowler or a true batsman/

Who do they have left that they are not saving for the Ashes?

I'm very disapointed with England in this series because their batting hasn't fired. I'm not that bothered about the bowling not firing because we are without Jones, Anderson, Harmison, Flintoff, Plunkett... but but as far as batsmen go, there is only Flintoff and Vaughan who we are missing, so we can't really use injuries as an excuse for batting. Still, I suppose i'm not giving Pakistan enough credit here.

Problem with batting is simple, Shoaib and Asif have bowled well. It's not like the top order have had chances to score 70 off the first 15 anyway. Throw into the equation 2 seamer helpful pitches and conditions.

School's back tomorrow, so I can go back to the good old days of taking a sly peak at cricinfo's OBO commentary during my science lesson! ;)

It's situations like these which makes me glad that school is back; It means that I don't have to witness a full match of torture.

Pakistan have played great cricket, hardly torture! ;)

No you have made a mistake, cricket which involves England is only about England winning! If England aren't involved then i'm very much watching it for the cricket, but when England are playing, I want them to win no matter how they do it. Hence why I was praying for rain for the entire 5 days of the Oval Test last year.

*Awaits a stern telling off from Andrew about my lack of morals* ;)

"So what happened recently to Pluto?"

Someone shouts.

"LBW!"

:p

Looking at tonights game it's going to favour the bowlers again, let's hope Lewis performs again.
