Pakistan lost because their batsmen were incompotent against us today. Pakistan only had a sniff of hope due to some rash shots by the likes of Read and Pietersen.

MOS: Ian Bell

Should have been that in my opinon.
Younis Khan deserved it imo, although Bell did well too. I still wouldnt have Saj in the team because he is just too inconsistent. One good game followed by three bad ones...is simply not good enough.:noway

Lewis has done really well this series imo.

Agreed; One good performance doesn't change my opinion of Mahmood, but I have changed my opinion of Lewis. He's worth every penny in this England side. Although I have doubts over how he will take his wickets in India.

He wont be as effective in India, but he can support the main bowlers by keeping it tight.

I suppose, but he isn't as good a player without his swing. I just hope that Jimmy is fully fit for the CT; We have missed him big time. I highly doubt it though.

anyone went to the match i did was at the stanley barnes upper stand

True. Jimmy was very effective in the third test win over India in India.

Woah! Why the font change?

And that was amongst the best spells i've seen from him.

I was in Stanley Barnes lower, just behing the group of England fans who sang most of the match. Did you see 'Greenhair'?

I really enjoyed the day, partly for the cricket (which was excellent, Saj had a great game) but mostly for the great spirit there was between the two sets of fans. As the game swung back and forth, we were singing and they were quiet, then visa versa, but we were all smiling and in good humour all the time. When w bowled them out cheaply, one of their fans lent his sign (saying Warning: Demolition in Progress) to one of hours, who started waving it around.

Our chants were genius, ranging from 'God save YOUR Queen', 'If it wasn't for the English you'd be sikh!' and 'Mahmood is English and so are most of you', but we both gave as good as we got and it was a great advert for cricket.

Anti-climax really. Came closeish at the end there. Pakistan bowled well.

Bad pitch, poor scores.

Well done England, somehow you get out of jail with a drawn series.

Boring game to be honest.

i remember the guy with the sign demolition in progress it was great i was sitting second row from the top it was real good. there was one part when the police were camcording some pakistan fans, and then they took out there camera phones and starting pointing them at the cameras. the mexican waves were good aswell. really good atmosphere, really electric

At his pace? Probably not. Then again, I was one of the people who thought Asif would never be successful on the international stage :p

Anyway, good win for England. Even though the series was drawn, I feel England took more positives out of it than Pakistan did. The end of a disappointing tour for Pakistan.

And that's all the cricket I'll be watching live from here on until after the World Cup. :(

I totally accept Ian Bell as the M.O.S

One thing i dont understand here though.
Was the track responsible for the poor batting or waw it some really excellent bowling fm both the sides ?

It was excellent bowling by England but over confident batting by England! Pakistan was really poor in the Batting time and Bowling when 3 wickets were needed!
