what was good about his performance today was that he got the main wkts, like both openers, Younis Khan, Inzi, Razzaq...only Sami was the tailender that he got out.

True, that Inzi wicket was massive and Khan was looking good too.

Wow, thats a poor effort by a strong Pakistan batting line up.

The pitch was taylor made for Harmison, he bowled very well and got what he deserved. Panesar bowled well from the other end.

Younis Khan and Yousuf really should have concentrated more and got through to lunch. Was a shame. Afridi went well for an over or two but his luck ran out early unfortonatly. A little unlucky not to get that ball a bit more. After Inzy's wicket fell, you just knew they were in trouble.

England's batting has started very well. They already lead with heaps of wickets in hand.

Pakistan better be hoping for this rain. Or else they better get these next wickets quickly and bat well second innings.

Yesterday was a pretty bad day for me because I've got tickets for Sunday. Good news is its likely to rain on saturday and be drier on the sunday. (according to the metoffice).

Harmison was fantastic, Monty was good and got some spin off a first day pitch. We've batted well and Cook has looked very comfortable. We all know about KP.

I was very suprised that Pakistan crumbled like that. Shahid Afridi was completely pathetic when he went after Panesar for the second time in a over after Razzaq had a talk to him.

He made the third highest score. The total was going to be bad by that stage anyway. It is the way he plays. He was unlucky.

No one batsman can be blamed. They all did poor.

Cracking stuff from England, finally a light at the end of the tunnel...I know, gay expression. They never let go of their grasp on the innings or relaxed, which is a good sign. Anyway, great to see Harmison back in business; he's looked phased for a long time now, and as pointed out in several articles, has been dangerous only in glimpses, or short spells. He's a frontline bowler, and acted like one yesterday; it seems he really recaptured his rhythm and spark on a wicket conducive to his brand of fast bowling, and found that extra yard of pace, yet more importantly, combined it with solid line and length. Pakistan have a strong line-up, so that's quite an all-round achievement from the England outfit. Cook appears to be extremely composed at the crease, which is by far the most impressive aspect of his game, and is a real plus in his push for an assured Ashes berth, and a cemented name in general. Hopefully he and KP are able to ride this momentum deep into the second day, and squeeze Pakistan out of what has been, so far, a one-sided contest.
