Pakistan Tour of Australia 2009/10

THIS season? Hes played 2 games, one FRC and one Shield, how on earth can you say he bowled really well in pressure games THIS season based on 2 games? And FTR his Shield game he took 2-129 average of 64.5 for the season and 1-38 in FRC at 38. Yep great form that, ripping teams apart.
Yeah, I was about to ask if he's even played a one dayer this summer. Harris was picked last time on the same sort of weird criteria. The selectors obviously like the way he bowls and probably his age, but he's done nothing to say he's a one-day bowler.

An older choice might have been Noffke, but it seems he is no longer in contention for a spot. I probably wouldn't have leaned towards experienced players myself, as Tait and Geeves have been in rather expensive form. Then there are some like Rimmington, Knowles and Drew, who are showing promise, but are about the same age.

I don't think there would be so much wrong with calling on a young player for a one-off. Although injuries and the u19s have culled numbers a bit, there are a few who would be interesting. Scott Walter might be a bit too much of a swing bowler for Adelaide, but Starc and Cutting have the height and Pattinson looks like he has the pace. Then there's Haberfield, I don't know what his deal is, but he seems to have a knack for getting wickets.

Short term memory, its useful sometimes :doh

At least the West Indies fielding will be better next month, I hope.

Hmmm back to the steady start again. Was hoping one of these two would take it the opposition like Hayden/Gilly use to do rather than wait for the bad ball to put away.

Marsh is a quality player, you can see in his general play that he would fit in quite easily into the test team, why is his FC record so poor.....

It is funny how in T20s most of his runs are smashing lofted drives, but in one dayers, he scarcely seems to think about them. It's a strength he really should back more, because he hardly hits a bad one and they often go for six.

Aha!

Aha!

Pretty much all Marsh's good knocks in the first IPL were full of awesome drives in the air for 6 or close to it, he was in stellar form. but you have to figure a lot of it was mind set, he was really lofting anything in his half, without fail. So smooth and flowing were those knocks, especially the ton. He set the whole tournament alight, I have rarely seen anyone dominate that much in a series, he was supreme.

I agree with you 100%. Sean Marsh needs to be more proactive.
